Theres a trick we used to use in delta force 2


This has to be done by game host but it works

Bring up the comand scree ~ or ' button then type
netdelay
this will sety the delay to 0ms
"netdelay 1" will set it to 209ms and higer numbers will st higher delay times

I guess this is what you heard and yes most people do Net delay 3 times in a row.

Come on people I thought you were pro's

netdealy does nothing for players suffering from lagg,ask nova or look in the favs FAQ ;) all it does is slows down the comands comin from the host ,makes no odds to host as he doesn't get lagg anyway

punt crc clears the hosts ram cache not the ban list

so if you want to help ppl with a lil lagg punt ur crc

or try askin the ppl screaming "LAAAAAAAAAGGGG" to punt their crc , it should come up with 1-8 all with zero's if not try again if still not clear they need a reboot

thats the whole point of netdelay 1 seting selay to 209ms If pp suffer from lag u set the delay higher so everyu 1 suffers same amount of lag including host there for eliminating the problem, cos if every 1 is 209 ms slower than the data
then no body is slower than the next person,
and punting crc will alow baned players back in to game Its a old trick squad members would use in delta force 2 to get there team mates un banned,
theyd come in and say
"puntcrc i have lag" and 1st thing any 1 did the ofeending players would re enter room

well if you know it all why dont you tell us all why they have the option to do netdelay?

and why does net delay 1 make the delay 209ms

and you can also tell us what is stored in your crc cant you??

I mean i can I already have your crc stores baned players data And i take it youve been banned from a lot of servers and there for you want people to sumpcrc so you can re enter the rooms

or of cours if your telling the truth You will be able to tell us all why the net delay option is there
and why its called NETDELAY and not
"totaly nothing to do with the delay on the net"
And punting crc may reduce lag But only becous it no longetr has to remember who has been baned or not:cool:

what possible reason would i lie about commands on a game ?


banned players data is stored on a text document called "BANNED", and when you quit hosting,if you hit esc +y you lose any banned players from the banned list......but if you use command line and type "quit" the banned players are saved to the text document....but i guess you knew that

"PROBLEM:
What is NetDelay? And does it cause LAG?

RESOLUTION:
The Netdelay command sets a delay on outgoing commands other than your position information. In theory setting it on your client could give you a disadvantage by making all of your commands go through more slowly.
A serve and play host could use it to give themselves a slight advantage over other players (by setting a high netdelay on the server), but that\'s about it. Otherwise it doesn\'t do anything.

Note that it has nothing to do with "lag" which is internet latency, this is just a delay on outgoing commands.

so basicly your saying that my
comment of seting your net delay high will give you same lag as every 1 els so no 1 suffers (if your host)
is correct and that netdelay dont drop ping but instead compensated for it

Thats fine becous thats exactly what i implied

by the way ,

Ping is the time it takes for your pc to hand shake the other pc.
every 1's ping should differ from server to server depending how many ttl hops you haft to do (the best is 64)
windows default is 250 sumthing
the faster the host's conection the better the ping,
you can change your ttl hops setings and your mtu tcip and also your rwin receve window
of cours you already knew all this:o

lol no host suffers very little lagg if any at all

it seems your comp[rehention of what was said is a little lacking,

We know a host has no lag as he is the host,
thats the whole point in doing a net delay
that way the host is also given a slight dissadvantage.
Otherewize It wouldnt be realy fair

You see the simple premmis is

if every 1 els has a bad ping to the host the host will have no lag and there for wont be standing where other people see him.
so shooting him wont work as he isnt actualy there he was there a second ago.

So when the host does a net delay of 1
209ms
he/she them selfs will also be slowed down efectivly giving them selfs the same lag as the rest of the player(s)

Now repeat that back to me i wanna make shure you understand

a lot of lag depends on the map if there is a lot of items in the map it causes lag, also if u are on a dialup u can lag or if ur video card is under powered it causes a lag.

thats basicaly right but fundimenataly flawed,

thereason being that a gfx card under pressuer is not lag its system slow down, wich are 2 difrent things.

lag is when you are lagging behind and geting data slower than every 1 els becous of your internet conection

system slow down is when your pc is under pressure an things will moove in jerks,
rectify system slowdown by using lower refresh rates for your game gfx/geting better gfx card or could even be lack of processor power or ram

rectyfy lag by geting a better connection. reducing your ttl or increasing your rwin.

As i have already said I throw things together, when i have made all the pages and finished seting up the links i will then create a nicer looking index, But unlike some people I dont see the value in asthetic's
nice looking stuff take longer to load and tend to requier people to download stuff,

on to the ego thing.
i have already said i am no better than any 1 els and i seriously doubt that any 1 person is better than any other,
however your comprehention seems awfly limited

im not great at anything i do but unlike some people here I am willing to spend weeks teaching people what i know then they go off and use what i taught them to better effect than i did.

i doubt it as i have stated that i am no better than u and i am also not great at anything i do And i have even said that anything i teach people they usualy go on to use the techneques to greater effect than me,

i have a horrible feeling that my words are wasted on you but in this life you haft to be tollerant and patient with people.

ok yall are playing BHD right? well i am a df2 junkie and our squad plays Serach and Destroy. if u wanna see a server laaaaaaag when a peep sets off 10-20 sathces sometimes the game seems to freeze. even with a ping of <100. most of the servers have a ping of 150-170 and netdelay works until the first satch is detonated. and if i understand it correctly puntcrc is used to clear all packets left by players enterning and leaving the game.

and doesnt the host have to use the netdelay command? but then agian it might be different for BHD.
