PINGS
hi i was in a server and they said if you type something three times it lowers the pings.does anyone know what is?.i was serving myself then the pings
went through the roof and everyone was punted.

i think they are havin a laugh. The only thing i have heard was in a post around here somewhere. It says that you can alter the maximum ping time that
you are aloud from 5000 to whatever you want. Don't trust it myself but its on this site somewhere!!!

i was actually playing in the game and people were saying to the host pings are high and he said hold then on the screen he type a word and it
refreshed the pings and they went down low but i cant remember what the word is he typed three times.it sound impossible but it was done

Usually its 'netdelay0' which
is used by a host to level his game ping if the server gets a bit laggy. Now i did stumble across an article , yrs ago, on DF2 , where some servers
would set the ping rate 'high' to match their connection, like someone in INDIA hosting on a 56k , connecting to NOVA in Calif. ( INDIA* is simply
an example , as its quite a distance from Calif). So ie: if i played the server, even though im on cable , it would be laggy at best, however they
(the host) are used to it, and would probably win. On the subject of typing something 3 times, lol, it may have been the server playing a sick joke on
ya, or they had 'altered' their game files to accept an invalid command, but, as a host, this would be done on the 'command prompt' screen, and should
not be visible to you as a player, like 'text talk'. ps. a game is only as good as the server, and the lower the ping , the better the
game, or 'more accurate' the above link is a very detailed description of 'REALITY' and you may want to read it in depth, so you will understand
'game ping' a bit better.

hey rambo hope this helps when you host maps out especially deathmatches when there,s a lot going on in the game and if some1 states that the game is
laggee then press the @ key then the message box will appear at the bottom of your screen then type the word netdelay as you see it here no
spaces then hit the enter key you will then see a message display in the top right corner of your screen it will say delay set to oms meaning 0 milla
seconds this will only reduce lag for a short period of time.And as for ping times as it has been mentioned ping times can,t be reduced ping times are

just 1 more thing i forgot to mention when you,ve typed in netdelay and like i said its only for a short period of time you can type netdelay as much
as u want to help reduce lag when ever other players state that the game is laggee just just do what i mentioned in the last post wish you well and

Maybe help...
There are several reasons to make highping & still unknown in some case. In my opinion, most highping cause from some the Bad Terrain map form.
Setting Color Sky too hight. Too much Water in map. Too much objects Stufts like Buildings & Vehicles. when hight ping the host can help little by
tryping: netdelay or puntcrc several time. But just help low ping intime. The best is download program call: Speed9x.ex9 151kb will help all Modem and
Cable Connection run fast and always ping low.
