DF2 multiplayer issue
hey everyone,
i just installed DF2 again and i can't play on novoworld, host a game or change my multiplayer options. when i try to do one of these things the game
freezes.
the strange thing is that i can play the single player missions without any problems.
i think it has something to do with the ports, but i'm not sure...
df2.cfg looks like this
| Code: |
// MULTIPLAYER
mp_gameport = 0
mp_vonport = 0
mp_usealtnwport = 0
login_password = ""
game_password = ""
squad_password = ""
game_name = ""
phone_number = ""
internet_address = "0.0.0.0"
mp_service = 4
mp_gametype = 0
maxplayers = 16
dedicated = 0
com_port = 0
baud_rate = 0
max_team_lives = 100
max_kills = 20
team_req = 1
attributes = 2
startdelay = 0
destroybuild = 0
deathmes = 1
replay = 0
time_limit = 30
koth_limit = 5
timeout = 0
mp_numteams = 2
gpsicon = 1
sp_wind = 0
showtags = 0
contest = 0
flagreturntime = 210
|
the strange thing is that the ports are all 0, i tried to fill in the ports DF2 uses but this didn't help...
anyone ever had this problem or does anyone know how to solve it?

NovaLogic Games Firewall/Router Port List
Delta Force Xtreme
UDP Ports: 32768
The port numbers for DFX are the same as for JO with the exception of the 7595
port, which is used by Punk Buster.
The ports for the game are 32768, 49152 & 64206. All are UDP
Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising/Escalation
UDP Ports: 7597, 32768, 49152, and 64206
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down / Team Sabre
UDP Port: 17479
Delta Force: Land Warrior / Task Force Dagger
UDP Port: 17478
Delta Force / Delta Force 2
UDP Ports: 3568 and 3569
Wouldnt it be a good idea to explain what a UDP port is,as many players havent got a clue of what it is and how to put the port numbers in to their
particular routers. Many i have spoken to have taken their routers off because the couldnt get the router to let dftd in or out. I find many of the
answers are very sarcastic and treat the players as idiots, some might be just learnig to use their pc, and probably dont find the barracks very
helpfull. |

It would take an huge effort, and resources to do this, do you know how many modems are out there, all with a different admin setup.
There is another thread here somewhere that points you to this site..
http://portforward.com/
They have the time and resources, and have done what they can..
