how can make the color map in photoshop?

that depends on which game you make on for jo uses a 24 bit tga image sized to 1024 1024
and uses a 32 bit tga image the reason for this is to make a alpha chanel and and a greay scale image useing diffrent shades of grey to counter
brightness or darkness

all right then in bhd you need to make a 1024 by 1024" thats the size measured by pixels"
32 bit " you usualy select that when saveing a tga it will ask what bit to save as when saveing"
the reason i use 32 bit is too add a alpha chanel to counter the brightness that you get from the game engine usualy a copy and paste in to the alpha
chanel useing a darkend version of your height map works great or just a flat grey color will work but takes detail away from the terrain
