Map Description:

AW2 Mod required. *Updated 27.2.10* (funnel system to make sure POWs get out of huts and a couple of enemy snipers) This is the first of the Japanese home islands and they are prepared to fight to the last man. We first need to establish a beachhead at waypoint Alpha and then fight our way through the tunnels that are running through Mount Suribachi, destroying all weapons crates and flushing out the enemy as we go. At the other end of the tunnel we have a POW camp where some of our boys have been held in appalling conditions for some time. We must destroy any weapons crates there and release any POWs. From there we proceed to and capture the airport, killing the commander if he doesn’t surrender. Simple map, nothing flash.

I had fun with this. It wan't too difficult and it ended properly. Although the beach combers were easy to take out from the flight deck with an M82. They are an accurate lot though if you get too close.

Thanks for the rating and comment. Glad you liked it. I'll try the M82, sounds like fun. I made them accurate on the beach because they were so easy to take out. Try using the mortars on them. It's a blast! Excuse the pun.

Thanks for letting me know, Bentarrow. I think it seems to work on other servers. Perhaps if you remove a couple of fires it will be OK. I left the mis file in in case of problems. If this problem persists I'll have a look and see what I can do about an update.

By the way, one or two have mentioned that the map didn't end. You need to get all the notebooks in the tunnels. There are four of them. You also need to escort all of the POWs to the armoury truck before they are free. Press "I" for hints and instructions. I did include instructions that pop up when an objective needs to be completed but that are sometimes missed in the heat of battle or if someone is killed.

Yeah, when it comes to the POWs it's a case of slowly does it. They are a pain to get to follow without bumping into walls. If you stand back and keep changing position they manage to get out after a while. I might see if I can set up some sort of funnel system inside the prisoners huts if I get a moment this weekend. Thanks for the rating!

Great map spinny, i would make it a little harder, especially at the beginning, sniping was too easy, I would add some enemy snipers that pick you off in the beginning....just my thoughts......

If I make a DFX2 map it's always too difficult if it's a JO then it's too easy, lol! No worries, I'll stick in some snipers this week at some point and perhaps a RPG or 2. Should be an update by this time next week. Busy working on Zombiefest 2 at the moment. ;-)
