Map Description:

AW2 mod required. Coop and SP. This a AW2 version of my DFX2 version of my AW2 Blood Gas 1. I got a lot of complaints about the accuracy being too high on the BGs and the tanks being too difficult (3 of them against you). No doubt the JO AW2 community will moan about it being too easy, lol! I’ve left it more of less the same as the DFX version except for the designer skyscrapers which I substituted for the much better AW2 ones – although I am proud of my DFX ones. There aren’t many BGs but they are well placed although they can be seen first if you are prepared to take it slow and search for them by peeking round corners and also looking up and below. One word of warning, jumping into the tank straight off will get you killed. The SP version has a missile launch at the end although it’s not as fab and groovy as I had hoped.

Map wouldn't end...

...for me, yet I completed all of the objectives and carried the laptop to the end. I did locate a stack of ammo crates outside 'the playing field' (NE of the launch pad at C -1 alongside the stream), but it could not be destroyed. I'm unsure if this might actually be related to the issue or what may have happened/what I may have done wrong. Upon destroying the rocket, I believe I heard a message advising me to make my way to the LZ, but I may have heard it wrong? Irregardless, I saw no helo nor anything else aside from those l/e at the onset, as well as those civilians jumping from the skyscraper. I did swim to to the partially submerged gate at the end of the sewer system, but 'nada'. Please advise...cheers.

Rocket pad arms

I just played it again and had a successful outcome. I think that perhaps you destroyed the rocket with an rpg, right? I should have stressed in the mission to place satchels around the launch pad arms. I noticed that the rocket cannot be destroyed by satchels so I entered an event that destroys the rocket 1 second after the launch pad arms are destroyed. Thanks for pointing that out by the way. Now I can close that particular glitch off. How an earth did you find the indestructible crate? You have been able to leave the base. Anyway, I updated a short time ago with that deleted in the coop version (it acts as a mission variable in the SP). I'll close off the launch pad arms problem and update later today. Thanks again for pointing that out.

Yep, you are correct...

...an RPG it was, but I also destroyed the launch arms with an RPG as well, since other maps I've played throughout the years reas other.

Oops...I hit incorrect key previously

(reas other.)...required this as a condition in order to completely destroy a rocket; however, it evidently didn't matter since I utilized an RPG to destroy the rocket itself. With regard to that stack of ammo crates outside the gameplay area, I just came across it in my search to see if there may have been a helo sitting on the opposite side of the wall adjacent to the rocket launch pad; however, the noise I had heard was actually just that of the rocket itself. In order to access that area, I jumped the wall from the top of the left of the two bunkers located just inside the compound. BTW, I played the COOP version and as usual - alone via LAN. Let me know when the map has been updated and I'll 'give it another go'...cheers.

all done

Worked that time...

...heh...heh. Actually, it felt as if I had played a totally different version than I did the first time. The tank cannon at the onset (this time) was taken-over by a bot that was a 'crappy' shot...pfft, yet the first time, I had the tank to myself which was a good thing. Also, there were more BGs to contend with this time around, but everything else appeared to be the same. It would've been nice to make that laptop somewhat useful at the end of the map, since I had to carry it all that way...lol. Maybe, use it to download additional info from the computers within the command center before one destroys it...just a thought? This map ended successfully after I destroyed the rocket with a ~satchel charge~...heh...heh. Good job 'Spinney'...cheers.

Not what I planned

Thanks for hanging in there Sarge. I take it you didn't find it too difficult lol! Actually the crap shot on the cannon would have driven you if you had gone on the cannon as he was on a 125 waypoint but not to worry. It wasn't what I planned for Blood Gas 2. I will do a BG3 though and it will start in the sewer next time and I'll try and link the laptop to it in some way. Cheers!
