I am a df2 terrain maker
hello guys i havent seen ya for a while and i miss ya you know that
so
im just lookin around on my JO
and its strikingly clear that the terrains are rendered< how you like that fer tech talk , in a different manner with the different , shall i say ,
sections pieced together and making what appears to be a larger terrain all together , instead of a repeating 1024x1024
If no one is too busy Please a few words on this new approach for the layman . i have the abullet ed for jo and am just beggining to learn it and
am looking forward to making some levels for the DB and fo course id like to edit some maps too if possible . i have a couple tools for making the df2
grayscale height fields but for 1 person its seems a bit tedious to complete finished terrains . and some mysteries remain such as all those colors in
the 256 color detail .pcx for the detail and how you get then to line up without some kind of helpful app

If you're going to make tarrains for JO, you could try checking out the following forums (as well as the forum we're in now)...:
TxpGone3D
MOD Depot
(you'll probably need to register at both of them in order to view the forums...)

A repeating (seamless)1024 x 1024 heightmap .raw, will work fine.For the rest,take Q-Dad`s advice.
