Helo won't respawn


Howdy All,
I'm trying to get a helo to continuosly respawn during the mission if its shot down....I've checked around the forums and find nothing that relates to what I'm trying to do here.

here's what I've scripted in the events

Event 0:
Delay; 30
(no "if" action)
Then:
redirect ssn =AI too waypoint any=Helo
redirect ssn= Helo to waypoint helo start
(this event works great)

Event 1:
IF:
ssn=Ai and ssn=Helo are dead
Then:
reset event 0
(this event does not work)

now i've given the helo and the AI 10 respawns in the attribute window, the helo respawns, but the AI does not.

any suggestions

If the AI does not respawn, you should check and make sure the respawns are still set (sometimes it glitches and they don't remain there).

By default vehicles are set to respawn an infinite number of times. Open the Attributes window on a vehicle and look in the middle for the Spawn (WP Pause) box. A zero equals infinite respawns. For the AI, a zero equals no respawns. So enter something like 99 in Spawn box for the helo pilot.

When you direct the helo to a waypoint path and its destroyed, the helo should continue on the assigned waypoint when it respawns. And it should continue to do this unless you add an event to redirect it.

So you shouldn't have to "reset" Event0 by using Event 1.

Try making a test map with nothing but a blind pilot, helo and it's waypoint path. Add a helo that you can fly. Watch the AI helo take off, destroy it, and then fly to the start area of the AI helo. Ensure both respawn and then take off again.

I would make an event, that if helo dead, kill AI, just in case the AI survives the crash..or it will take a while for him/them to get back to the helo respawn point.

If they die together, you'll have less of a delay to get the helo airbourne again.

As Jon says, no reset is needed, they will just keep doing it until the respawns run out.

Thanks all for the rapid replies..although I followed all the suggestions...everything remains the same.

1. (Xreao) waited 30 minutes for the AI to respawn(attributes set at 99 for respawn)

2. ( Jonathan) Replaced and scripted entire new map.

here are my events:

(1). 3 sec delay...(no "if")
then: redirect ssn 41 to waypoint 125-helo
then: redirect ssn=helo to waypoint helo start.
(2)..(EE)..."if" ssn dead (helo)
then: kill ssn 41(pilot)

I have no reset events checked...the only delay is for loading the helo

Helo attributes set to WP pause 0

The only event you need is to kill the AI, this needs to be on a reset after x seconds.

The rest can be done by assigning the ai to the helo, and assigning the helo to a waypoint list.
