Using JO objects in DFX

HI,

I've been making multiplayer TDM and TKOH maps in DFX med for a little while now. But I am really finding that the limited number of buildings and objects are really stunting my creativity. There is only so much you can do with the Druglord villa, and such like.

What I want to be able to do is use JO buildings and objects in my DFX maps. I am not worried about weapons and vehicles at the moment. I know it can be done as I have seen other posts on the subject.

I found this :- all you need to do is locate the files, and put them in....along with an entry in the items def, or other relevant def files if it's a weapon. ???

What I am really asking is, is there, or is anyone planning to do a detailed step by step tutorial explaining how JO stuff can be extracted and made ready to use in DFX MED? I am someone that has not experimented with digging into game files yet so the tut would have to be friendly to the 'noob game modder'.

And would everyone playing the map in the server need these objects loaded, or have JO installed or would the objects be embedded in the finished map?

I realise that making a tutorial would be a lot of work for someone, but I am sure there are many like me who would benifit.

Thanks, Steve :o

All the files that you have to manipulate need to be also changed for the other players. In other words, using DFX objects in JOE is a MOD.
