How to get JO buildings into DFx missions
I was playing a user created single player mission last night and noticed buldings that looked like they were from Joint Ops. But I don't see them
in the DFx MED buildlings list. Is there a way to get buildings from prior DF games like Black Hawk Down and Joint Ops into DFx MED?

JO buildings... yes.
BHD and other games buildings... I'm not sure.
To get JO buildings (or any JO item) into DFX, you need to add the new item to the ITEM.DEF file, extract all the appropriate texture files and
animation files (for animated objects), and place them in the DFX folder.
I've done this for all the Indonesian characters, but the file is 20 megs and I don't have anywhere to upload it to.

But let me see if I understand this. I don't have JO installed on my pc since I had to reformat my HD last month and haven't gotten around to
reinstalling it. I do have DFx installed. So the DFx user-created single player mission that I d/l has the JO building info in the BMS file?

Well, it's not "in" the bms file. The bms file is just a binary file that tells the game engine what to display on the screen and what other files to
activate.
I'd have to see the mission you are referring to to give you a definate answer. But I know one way that it COULD be done, would be to extract the
building's .3DI model file and it's .DDS texture files from the Joint Ops .pff file, then drop them into the DFX folder and edit the DFX Items.def
file to include the new building.
It's possible that the person who designed your mission included the DDS, 3DI and Items.def files in the download. Diid you see them when you unzipped
the download?

I checked the User created files, and all the files look like regular files created with the MED. BMS, IFL, ... No Items.def
Now it could be me, but I thought some of the buildings in this mission were from JO.

I'm not in a place right now where I can download the mission and try it myself (I'm at work), but I'll do that later today.
Now, the designer of that mission DID claim that he had found a way to use the NILE editor to get JO items to show up in DFX. See this thread;
http://dfbarracks.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=35456
I tried to do it the way he said, but had no success. And when I asked him to explain how he did it, he never responded.
So... I suppose it IS possible he may have some method of getting it to work.

I'll like to see a way of getting more people (A/I), trees, buildings, and decorations into DFx missions. I'm running out of things to pick from.

Well, at least your putting missions out there. Betty, Susie, Nancy... I detect a theme.. Are these your girlfriends? :D
I've been messing around so much with modding ideas that I haven't made any missions yet. I'm trying to get myself focused and "just do it", but I'm
in an inspirational slump. Ah, well... it'll come eventually.

It started as a take off on the code phrase Irene in Black Hawk Down. Betty came from Betty Page, the famous 50's pin-up model. And I can't tell
you where Nancy and Susie came from. Secret.
I was in a slump too. Prior to OpGirls, the last mission I did was ManDown for BHD. Sometimes you just need a break. Especially when you stat
having dreams at night of joining tunnels, inserting waypoints, rotating buildings...

Good afternoon
Remember that there are number limits of things that you can place on your maps...
You knew that right?

Are you referring to page 26 of the MED manual?
• The total number of Decorations and Buildings (X) exceeds the maximum (1200)
• The total number of Vehicles and Objects (X) exceeds the maximum
• The total number of Markers (X) exceeds the maximum (768)
• The total number of People (X) exceeds the maximum (768)
Although I think the total number of people above is wrong. I had a mission that got hosed once I went above 255 enemy A/I.

The maximum number of people on a dfxmed map is 256. If you try with more than that, you'll get an error message when saving the map. You got to make
the A/I's spawn to get more people on a map. :o
I don't know if you can do it any other way by making a wac-file, since I haven't learned that yet
