Editing a message

I don't know if this is something that can be changed or not. I went to edit a message and add a link at the bottom of the message. After putting the cursor at the bottom and enetering the url with the link button above all the original text dissapeared. Is this a setting in my profile that I can change or is it simply an anomoly of the forum software?

Thanks

different problem Chris..

If I need to add a link by editing a post ..I usually do the following ..

Edit the post..

hit ctrl-n to open a new window..

create my new link here (cos all current info will dissappear)....then copy it..

Go back to the original edit..and paste it there..

creating a new link within an edit will always remove all the current info..this is why I di it this way..
