Understanding depthmap
I understand the grey scale of a depthmap represents height values. The problem I am having is if I build a normal terrain for BHD I have no problem
with the height of it. But once I convert that terrain over to JO using DV's utility there ends up being dark shades on the lower part of the terrain.
After doing some testin and trial and error on the raw file I found the grey scale number has to be set above 168 in order for it to work properly in
JO. Is there another way around this because I thought the greyscale is from 0-255 = 256 which 0 represents the lowest and 255 represents the heighest
points in a terrain...Any help would be appreciated it...Trying to figure out if DV's utitily is the problem or something else...Thanks...

think I found the problem. In the Modtools help file it states about placing a depthmap in the Alpha Channel of the color map which I found if you did
that it for JO it will create a black ground in low lying areas of a terrain. I left it out purposly and it fixed the problem...So, for JO skip that
portion...
