XP Problems - DFLW & DFTFD
Hi All,
When you actually are "Inserted" into the game, the screen screws up and the game dies.
I tried re-installing, but the bl**dy thing won't run Setup.
I even tried running setup.exe manually on the CDs but it just won't execute.
Any idea's?
Thanks inadvance.

I've successfully installed and hosted TFD and LW on machines running WinXP Home Edition and WinXP Professional.
It may not be much help but at the very least you now know that they'll work on XP.

Still trying...
Well, I got the thing to install again, but it still doesn't work.
Novalogic TechSupp responded to me, but it was for a completely different game :-(
If I glean anything else out of them, I'll post it in here.

May sound stupid!!!
If u can get the game at least to load. I mean get to where you can click on install, and it runs for a sec or may not even run. I have found over
time this happens to alot of df games. I have df1-tfd and have windows 98/me and XP. #3 computers in House. If your atleast able to make it to where
setup begins to run then get some dish detergent "Dawn, Joy, Ivory etc." Run warm water on your Cd then rub the detergent on it all over back of the
cd, rinse do not rub the cd to dry it, let the warm water run on it until all the detergent is gone, then pat dry with paper towel. Like I said sounds
stupid, but I have gotten more people back to playing because their game wouldnt install. Not sure if it will help you but I have a 100% track record
so far hope to continue it. It will not harm your Cd BTW!!!

i had a problem along these lines before as well. I went lookin around in my bios and found that i was not able to run agp 4x on my video card. For
some reason i can run 4x agp mode on this pc and it works fine but my other caused problems with running the game and also couldnt run the setup.
Maybe take a look into that and if your agp mode is set to use 4x set it as auto. (wont slow it down)

Thanks for that Shorty.
I will have a look, but TBH, all I did when upgrading to XP was wipe the HDD, I didn't touch the BIOS.
Still waiting for a 2nd response from NovaLogic TechSupp.
