Map punting players ?!?!
Hi all,
Recently spent alot of time building a map for BHDTS on Mission editor.
Playing in the server and it punted alot of players.
I'm thinking possibly the "Tiles" i've used?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks.

I think the most common cause of punting in maps made for DFBHDTS is players without TS attempting to join. Or can non-TS players even get in a TS
map? I forget, but I can guarantee it's not the tiles.
Maybe check the .bms name... confirm that it holds to the 11.3 file name convention, and no spaces.
The 11.3 name format means the file name is no longer than 15 characters; eleven letter name, a dot, and the three letter extension. ElevenLetters.bms
is too long, but ElevnLettrs.bms is fine.
A few years ago, some mapper had a map called Okeefenokee Swamp that was punting players. I looked at the map in the MEd but didn't see anything I
felt might cause punting except maybe that he had some street lights that were under water, but I think further testing ruled that out.
I'm not sure shortening the .bms name helped, but I think it did.

Also do you maybe know how to rotate an object or building on another axis? like a bridge for example, instead of going sideways. to rotate it forward
and back i've totally forgot if this is an option but it makes no sense if it wasn't?

Oh, Lemme, you're a mapper with a future, it seems to me. Asking about putting a bit of roll on an item in the MEd is a sure sign of a mapper looking
to make good stuff. You're very correct that it makes no sense that you can change an item's yaw and pitch, but not its roll in DFBHDTS.
Welcome to the hell that is mapmaking in NeverLogic's DFBHD(TS)!
Roll is not an editable item attribute in this game. Sorry.
I just now tried adding a parked VW bus to a map I have for testing, found its entry in the .mis file, added an extra value to its facing line:
facing 30 353
I edited to:
facing 30 353 45
And nothing changed in the MEd or the map.
Sometimes, you can fudge some things into an item's attributes in the .mis file that way, but not roll.

Yep spend a good few hours on a map for it to punt every player
Pain in the ass!
Made plenty of maps in the past for servers but my mind is blank
maybe the new BHD has potential....

post your export stats to this thread so others can take a look to see if there is an issue with your memory usage.
also, if it is a MP map and has ai in it, make sure your total amount of players and ai do not cause the map to punt players.
