I need help with wac files


Ok I'm I guess pretty stupid....I've tried going by the tutorial to get wac files to work.......Will they only work with certain map types? I want to make it for a TDM...Something that can be ran on a server.......the other thing.....I'm making a swamp map and would like to add the T-rex sound clip in there....is that possible?

I really need somebody to hold my hand or make a pretty pop-up book with bright colors for me to understand this.

WAC will work with any game type. For multiplayer though, everyone needs to have the file for some stuff to work, and if it is on cooperative, if the server has the wac file and the players joining also have it, they will get a sysdump. For the T-Rex sound, there is a demo mission on adding custom wav files here.

Ok thanks.........ok as far as the default wac files for the game i'm basically wanting to setup a audio and text when a player goes out of the map area...(they get killed hehe) but I tried setting up the wac file to do that and I can't get it to work....I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong....

Oh....I'm not sure I made it clear also....I already downloaded the tutorial from the link you provided and went from step by step on it and it still didn't work....:(

If it is TDM, there isn't a way to kill the players when the leave the map area using WAC. You can have the wav file play, but the only way for it to actually kill whoever leaves the area is to use area triggers that remove health, not events needed.

Not so!! hehehe....you can kill a player if he or she goes into an area trigger (outside of map) have the event recycle itself......


I tried it both ways...to have the wac file played if either the player goes into the area trigger and is killed......or if the event occurs (the event that was setup to actually kill the player)

I guessing your confused of what my intention is.....I'm taking it...



I have set up on the events that if a ssn (player) goes into area trigger then that (ssn) gets killed.....I tried setting up event to have either scenario mentioned above doing it that way......I don't know if I'm just not typing it out right or not. When I get home from work I can copy and paste the wac file that I have.....
