Please Help !


Everytime I create a map in which something like a humvee should drive me from a to b he simply drives the shortest way and ignores the other waypoints, thought I told "ai state follow waypoints" and "use waypoint z".
can someone help me?

found another mistake.
when the chopper is supposed to land he stays about 30m up in the air. (=> gosh, i'm stupid. found out what was wrong. humvee is still a problem)

Try adding some more waypoints into the list and have them closer together, also check the hight values of each 1 and make sure they are numbered 1 thru whatever in order.

And found this by a simple search...

GETTING YOUR AI TO GET INTO A VEHICLE

1. Insert your AI somewhere near the first waypoint marker of the list you just created. Also insert the vehicle in line with the path of the waypoint list but before it.

2. Now click on edit > events

3. Now click new event.(This is located in the left hand pane of the Events box).

4. Name the Event.(this is done by entering a name in the "Name" Box in the top left hand corner).

5. Now setup the trigger click on new trigger in the right hand box (This will open a new dialog box)

6. In the new dialog box click the drop down box that says "Trigger type" and select "ssn"

7. In the trigger condition drop down box select Alive.

8. In the SSN1 box select player (its the very bottom one)

9. Click ok

10. Now in the actions box below the triggers box double click new action.

11. In the action type drop down box select Redirect ssn

12. In the first SSn box select the AI that you want to get in the vehicle.

13. In the waypoint list box scroll to the bottom and select List 125

14. In the waypoint number Select the vehicle you want him to get into.

15. Click ok

Ok so now we have got the AI in the vehicle and he has started the engine. Now we need him to drive somewhere now we got to tell him to do that because hes pretty thick.

GETTING THE VEHICLE TO FOLLOW A WAYPOINT LIST

1. Ok so open your events back up (you shouldnt of forgotten how to do that yet)

2. Double click new action

3. Select Redirect SSN as the action type.

4. In the SSN box pick the vehicle you want to follow the waypoint list.

5. In the waypoint list box select the waypoint list you created earlier.

6. In the waypoint number select Nearest(its at the very top)

7. Click ok

ok so now this should happen:

When you start the map the AI will walk to the vehicle get in and drive allong that waypoint list.

I almost posted that link too mate, but the step by step jumped out at me a bit more. It's chris's out of a DFX post, but the mechanics are exactly the same.
