nice vid lol. I guess they put some concrete slabs or another object just below the surface then used "hide" to create this illusion

Not sure about JO but in LW DFX BHD the hide function just hides the selected object(s) in the editor basically turns the off so they are not in your way but there are visible in the game.

In DFLW anything under buildings if you assign it to a blink group without making it parent it becomes invisible you can also turn voxels off which makes terrain invisible.

in BHD?TS the oil platform helipad NULL mesh is invisible not sure if its in DFX or JO

All the DF and JO series have deco/buildings that have no textures on the bottom side so you see through them however you can still see the outside of the objects when passing over the edges

I would like to present an old alternative hiding method.
It is by using blink groups trick.
DF:BHD/JO/DF:X has the limit for blink group. It is only Inside or Outside.
This works both of MED and NILE, of course.
If you want to reduce .wac scpipt, try this.
I posted sample map in this topic.
You can see hidden stinger A/Is launch missiles in sample map.

Enjoy mapping & creating, ...and gaming. =)~~~
