To assign an ai to a vehicle ;
On the Med, click on the ai & under Waypoints scroll down to 125 - Goto SSN (any) & in the corresponding box put the Social Security Number of the vehicle.

To get a vehicle to go to a certain place or patrol, create waypoints & assign them a name or number as depicted in this ss.

If you have 1 or more waypoints then on the right start with 0 in the box called " Number " & then have 1 then 2, etc & keep going for as many waypoints you have in that group.
If you want the waypoints to loop then click EDIT, scroll down to Waypoints & make sure that the waypoint you have selected doesn't have a tick in the box beside " " Waypoint doesn't loop "

Then assign the vehicle to that waypoint group as depicted in the ss.

Suoive that's a great demonstration of ai to waypoint assignment.

Westly - this link

HERE

shows you how to do objectives and show them

To be honest. westly, you should start making simple maps - you appear to be running before you can walk (look at all your current posts) as I bet you are brimming with ideas. Get used to doing all the simple stuff 1st.

Maybe you had better read the manual..we will not explain the basics that you have in a pdf file that comes with the game..don't be lazy..

When you have done so, come back and ask questions..

Hey Craig,
I don't mind compiling a tut on basic map making if you think it would help.

Well, it's up to you Dave..but all the basic stuff is covered in the Med Manual, like names, meanings etc..

I suppose you could grab the stuff from the last few pages of the pdf..

But, I still think that people need to learn to help themselves a bit as well..

The only 'moron' I see here is westly95.

So, to any members reading this thread, you've just seen a really good example on what to do, and deffinetly what NOT to do...

Replies like the ones by the above staff are like beating a dead horse for us, as some folks are just too dang lazy to try, and expect someone to literally hold their hand and/or do it all for them.

The only 'Mapping for Dummies' manual is the 1 that came with the game. No one told us or many of the good mappers out there how or what to do. We figured it out by reading it over and over, trying things out by experimenting, and when that failed, we formulated a GOOD question stateing what we had tried and failed at. In doing that, your almost sure to get the full attention of someone and get an answer that works for you.

And if the staff seems a bit put off by answering the same questions all the time, your prolly right. Because of lazy members that won't take the time to read the thousands of posts here or take some time and try.

Somewhere out there are new mappers reading this thread and nodding their head thinking.." Yup, I don't get it either, but I sure ain't gonna call these guys names. I better read somemore and then make a good question about what part I dont get."

"The only 'Mapping for Dummies' manual is the 1 that came with the game."

I must correct you there Fireant you are wrong there is a second mapping for dummies manual.

Its called DFBarracks this site is one big map making manual people just have to spend the timeto click and use the search button and nine times out of ten they will recieve theyre answer.

This person was just plain ignorant and doesnt know how to treat people politely and he wont getting tit for tat replys.

westly95 best of luck with that map making im glad to say this is the only reply you will ever get off me.

Thats great Dave...but the thing that just hit me is that folks think we are like Wal-Mart or some other chain of shops.

They cant find it because they are too lazy to look. In some cases, the question isnt a bad one, thus 1 of us takes the time and say "Its right over here."

Last time i checked, their werent alot of senior citizens hangin around here. Unless you count EE...lol

And he isn't that much older then me...just has more grey.

You gonna supply the glasses and lead them to it>?

Every game comes with a manual, and this site is loaded with info.

As you well know on both brother.

If you wish to take the time and do it, by all means make it a sticky. Never hurts to have fresh info.

You miss the point.

They have had links.

They don't look for them. If you want to be the Kindergarten teacher, by all means.

Enjoy.

We're not tour guides mate.
