Sinking vehicles...

I've filled the terrain with water and have placed cement slabs on top of the water and have raised them to their max hight so the bottoms of the slabs are at the water level. When I place vehicels on top of these slabs, many of them will sink through the surface of the slab. I've made certain the vehicles are fully on top of the slabs, but still see the problem... I'm relativly new to the map making scene so any magic you all can impart my way is appreciated, thanks...

raise the vehicles half or one meter above the slab. That way they wont fall down thru.
Same goes for player start markers, as you can also fall thru.

Just wondering if you are still having this problem. I have a similar post regarding objects falling through concrete slabs (people, cars, helicopters, etc.)

Thanks
Malcolm Reynolds:)

There has been a fault with these pieces since BHD..

Gets worse when you have a bigger variety of items on a map.

The best maps are made with less items, to keep the texture memory down...

They also play better...

I think it's better to create a smaller mission, so it serves better..too many different items really screw up...

If you want a big mission, make it in 2 parts..

Malcolm, went to your DFX SO server the other night, and joined, but the map stopped loading saying too many items..

Sorry, can't remember what was playing..

EE

Hello EE,

There is some problem with the Affiliate build that SnMServers set up for me with the Special Ops Mod. The Map runs fine under the DJ3 UP07 Mod. I can even host the SO map from my home computer. No solution to the problem at this time.

Your suggestion for big missions is to make it in 2 parts. Does this mean 2 maps?

Thanks
Malcolm Reynolds

Yes that is what is meant by 2 parts. parts as in maps.

From what i got from John at SNM is the nova affliate servers drop from maps created for the end user version DFX because the 2 .exe files are ratjher extremly different.
