Exactly, cos he found out another modding group had them from Nova, he searched them out, and gave them to us..
Some people didn't like that, it was the same when DV released his decrytion tools..
If we don't support our Key Modders like LoA and DV, we all loose..

Dont know why anyone would want that...... But i wouldnt have gotten anywhere hadnt it been for those tools. But ~DV~ i Think is THE GREATEST MODDER
FOR BHD EVER. to make a mod with drivable vehicles is unheard of!. But that was 2 years ago

And driveable mod had a lot of bugs and sysdumped....it was a try....
I, for one, support LoA for releasing the JO Mod Tools to public.
Ok, if the only modders, that had them, were the IC (my apologies, if mistaken) team, but they only use their mod for their tournaments, plus common
people like it, since it has BHD stuff in.
So why are they or were scared of someone making a better mod?
Afraid of a little competition, huh?
They could always add more stuff in and release an IC 4, 5 so on....
Best thing to do right now is to assemble a group of modders from Mod Depot and make a JO mod, similar to IC mod, which would have new stuff in and
buildings, (a lil bit o' coding for some stuff )and we would have a nice lil mod,
that could compete with IC or Reality....

Already in the works.
I have just opened Nova Mods - Titans of War, and we are working on a theme based mod for South America.

JO already has driveable vehicles, the next "driveable" mod could be for a jet plane ..
Think about, hehe....the map size is big enough 64x64 km....

They've tried to put planes in JO... won't work right without making a whole new file for how they would fly (don't remember what its called) 'cause
if they used the helicopter file it would fly tilted...

That's pretty rich, to try blaming the closing of the old MOD Depot forums on me...

LoA IS Terranova, without his driving force, Terranova just doesn't Exist..
He was condemned for releasing the Official Nova Jo Tools to the community, something that I patted him on the back for in another post at DFB..
If People can't accept the fact, that we all need the same tools, that we are all part of a great community, then I say Stuff them..
To all those who don't Support LoA at this time, I say Stuff You as well..
LoA has given his all for the community, he doesn't deserve the crap that he has been given..
I support the closure of The Mod Depot.
Don't dispare, all the forums are in a backup file.
So, to all modders who have ever used any tool form LoA, or taken any advise, and who don't support him at this time, you don't deserve to be a part
of Terranova's Mod Depot Forums, or any modding community for that Matter..
What's wrong..you afraid someone will make a better mod now we all have these tools..get a life people..
btw, I'll be adding the tools to the download section here, and at DFReload.. |
Is this targeted towards me as well...? For the record, and please do go look inside the archive of the old MOD Depot forums and read all the posts
from its last 48 hours or so, and you'll notice that not with one single word did I disapprove of LoA releasing the JO Modding Tools. I don't even mod
JO.

Correct, and as far as I can remember from the now archived MOD Depot forums, only one - 1 - person disapproved of the release of the JO Modding
Tools, and that was DV himself. He was flamed for his opinion by LoA and SonicDeath, and I simply spoke up for his rights to have and express an
opinion. Just go read the archives. I also criticized SonicDeath for his behavior as a moderator, since it didn't seem to calm things down, i.e. quite
the opposite, regarding the heated discussion between himself and swtdivalove/Skull about the two different Nova-Mods sites. They've since then become
friends, it seems.
All of my posts in this topic or the similar one inside the new MOD Depot forums were posted AFTER the old MOD Depot forums were closed down, so they
can't have had any influence at all on the decision to close down the site.
If my criticism AFTER the old MOD Depot forums were closed down seems harsch, it's NOT because I don't recognize all the good things LoA has done for
the Nova modding community, but it's a natural reaction to being witness to 3 years of modding documentation being wiped out without letting the
members get the chance of saving the content. If such a reaction is not expected or even tolerated, then I don't really know what more to say...
Now, if you've got the archive and will somehow make it available online in a read-only format later on, preferable with a working search feature,
then I don't see anything wrong with the closing down of the old MOD Depot, and thus this whole issue would become history as far as I can see it.

Well, introduce coders to Nova modding...or ask those cheaters in BHD, if they can help, since they hacked the game so much...

Ok, which part was that...? The part were I criticised the behaviour of the moderator towards you & Skull after you posted about your new modding
site? Or the part were I defended DVs right to express an opinion about releasing the JO Modding Tools...? I was involved in nothing else before the
site got closed, so it must have been one of those two.

I said that you exhibited the type of behavior that had gotten the site closed and that you were part of the cause because you
turned your back on LOA.

Ok i have had enough of this now this is the way i see this post going:
1) I let the post carry on and watch community members rip each other apart by making accusations about each other. Over something which no one has
control over in the first place to do anything about?
2) I close this post now and end it under the flaming rule and then close any further posts posted on the topic that violate the rules.
3) I leave post active on the forums in the hope that you will all end this crap now there?s nothing you can do about it so there?s no point in any of
you arguing about it so please it ends now.
So I am going for option 3 anymore accusations or flaming on these forums about this topic and I close the topic and remove it from public view. Your
all members of the same community and everyone?s input into the community is always appreciated at dfbarracks however flaming of other members is not
appreciated especially when no good can come of it.
I hope i havent offended any by my post but that is way i see it. And to be honest with you Its a new year and i dont it starting off by me haveing to
lock posts.

Yeah this post isn't really going anywhere. Whatever happened in the past dosn't matter. Why don't we just respect LOA and try to get our forums back,
and if we don't get it back, we can always put up a new Mod depot and work off of that.
Christ, it's just a modding site for an online game. No need to make so much [Censored]in drama out of it.
I don't see how anyone could possibly want the Mod Depot site to go down, but LOA must have been treated pretty bad to have wanted to delete all our
stuff. Not that I'm anyone to talk because I'm just another member of the forum, but I think the Mod depot forum should just go back up again and we
can just help out modding noobs and teach each other like we used to.

Well, ive read this whole thread. Heres what old Zippy has to say..
I myself think its great that LOA released the Nova mod tools. Not only does it help put people on the same page, it can help bring more people into
the novalogic modding scene.
Ive been going to LOA and the Mod-Depot often ever since i started to get really into modding. ..And, ive learned a lot. Without LOA or the Mod-Depot
i would still be trying to figure out how to get models into BHD.
Not sure whatever started this mess but can't we put it behind us? You know, forgive and forget? If LOA wants to go onto COD2, and have fun doing
that.. then all the power to him. Im glad he has found something he enjoys. Hes told me great things about cod2.. If i ever see it for sale, and ive
got 50 bucks to burn then i would buy it in a heartbeat.
Last thing ill say is that ill second everything that "DANVb329" wrote in his post above.
And ill end my post with DANVb329's quote, now everyone read this a few times.
Christ, it's just a modding site for an online game. No need to make so much F*%@#$ drama
out of it.
