coop maps with civilian death lose conditions
I really think this whole civilian death lose condition that coop mapmakers are putting into thier maps is really getting old and overdone, come on
already it's a freaking game it's bad enough when Nova logic does it but do we have to do it to ourselves? Enough with the whole PC crap lets just
play the game.

Oh now you know i have to disagree reason why to follow:
It is very important to have a civilian lose goal with a map for the following reasons
1) In real life dont soldiers get repremanded for civilian deaths the only way to repremand you in a game is you failing the mission?
2) What is the point in a coop map that is designed around saving 17 civilians when you can kill 16 of them and still finish the map.
3) Are they shooting back at you?
Just a few of my thoughts on this matter as i feel very strongly about friendly kills which civilian kills are until they use a weapon against you.

I don't think if you accedentally kill a civilian or two you should lose the entire mission. It would be better to have the players get penalized for
it. Things like more enemies come, a riot in the city/village, etc.

I have to agree with chris 100%....If it was real and your just randomly spraying and praying...you will cause innocent lives and waste ammo for when
it counts.
I will agree thats its 'Just a game' but not every player see's it that way. The map maker sets the standard for the goals by his or her standards...
If you dont like it, then play a different map.

I remember playing a DF2 map by Dr. Evil~TAG which had the condition if you shot/killed a civilian the rest of the civilians turned into enemy troups
and started pouring lead in your direction. It might be interesting to see something like in JO.

Oh please the only reason there are civilians in this game anyway are to serve as gratuitous bullet sponges, I still say civilian lose conditions are
lame but think the idea about if civies are shot they turn into enemies and try and nail you, now thats cool there can never be to many BG's. :D

I also agree with Chris 100 %, especially with

dang right
Here is a real life situation that happened in a war ;-
' You've been on patrol for the last 36 hrs humping your pack through boonies chasing an elusive enemy, you're tired & your nerves are on edge. You
come into a village and some goon takes a pot shot at you & then runs in amongst the other civilians, so instead of waiting for a clear hot you decide
that's easier to cap a few civvies at the same time and you think " Hell, who is going to miss a few civvies anyways, its war & there are always
innocent bystanders getting killed"
Back at base the CO chews you out for capping a few unarmed civvies & the next thing you know you are in the stockade drawing on a 10yr sentence for
murder. '
I know that what we play is just a game, but it makes it more challenging if you have to avoid killing innocent civilians.
Sure it would be nice if the civvies took up arms & fired back if they were fired upon.
But most of the time they would rather run than fight.

The only time I dont like civilian lose conditions is if theres some event so if 10 civilians die, you lose. Then if some enemies crossfire hits
civilians, and this happens a few times, you lose. Besides that, its easy to avoid shooting civilians... just point and shoot, not spray and pray...

Ok lets look at it this way then;
I am a map maker and i am currently building a map with the following strategy of the player to follow in mind as a map maker i must force the eplayer
to play the map in a way i want to achieve the end result so here is how i will achieve this.
The mision is as follows:
You will start off at your base and move into the city to release the hostages at objective caine.
The city is surrounded by 4 air defense sites so before we can extract the civilian hostages you must destroy the 4 air defence sites otherwise the
extraction helo cannot land.
The city is completely inclosed by a fence there is only one way in and one way out this area is heavily guardeed you must reach the hostages at the
opposite end of the city and destroy all radio equipment upon route so they cannot get any reinforcements in.
It is imperetive that you save the hostages and ensure theyre safe extraction if any of these hostages or cicilians die you will fail your mission.
Enjoy the map ( previews of this jo map are available hosted by myself opinions of all are appreciated)

Now doesnt that clearly state that the civilians in this game are not necessarily bullet sponges but require protection.

LMAO........ Being a sniper, I like finding some out of the way spot & taking as many 1 shot kills as I can, preferably HS.
Although at times I get the urge to just spray & pray with a P90 when I get bored, but that's rare.......lol
