small problem with DFBHDMED crashing

I am experienced in mapmaking with df2,lw......I just bought bhd and when I insert an item like a building, I click on item attributes on the left bottom just like on the other editors and it just freezes up. No matter what terrain or object I put in the map it always freezes when I click on it. Any help would be appreciated, I can't wait to make a bhd map it's a cool looking game.

BackRound Programs?

Are You running any programs in the backround? Sometimes that might be the problem because you are using too much of your computers memory which cuses programs to freeze and 'Not Reaspond'. Try closing some unimportant programs. Or the program may take up to much of you memory itself causing it to lag. By the way what kind of Computer are you using? LapTop or desktop? LapTops are worse then desktops becuse they have limmited spce in them and the company that makes it has to fit every thing inside that small area. Laptops also have worse Procesors. That could also be the problem! Your Proceser may be to slow or old. One more suggestion, It could be your hard drive. If you use up too much of your hard drive, then that also causes your computer to lag. Try deleting files that are not nessasery anymore and clear up your drive. (It is not the drive that You put CDs and DVDs in but your Disk)
Hope this helps.

Ill have to agree to what Kmilk suggested. The med is a recource hog... You havent posted your pc specs, so it could be several factors as mentioned above. Try shutting down any virus scanners and IM progs and anything else that runs in the background.

http://www.dfbarracks.com/downloads/index.php?action=df&fid=... try running this med instead

u could also try select object using 'left click', then 'right click' on it(make sure your not in insert mode) click 'edit item attributes' from the drop down menu

or select object using 'left click', then press enter

id suggest learning more of the hotkeys they can save you alot of time

for example 'CTRL C' is copy 'CTRL V' is paste

remember there is most usually more than 1 way to do something and alot of commands/actions in the med can be done 3 different ways

possible other causes

incorrect desktop resolution, try adjusting your desktop resolution

if your using a short cut. you may have a corrupt shortcut.

try starting med from "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Delta Force Black Hawk Down\DFBHDMED.EXE"

your DFBHDMED isnt in the right folder.

in order to run correctly the DFBHDMED.EXE has to be in your DFBHD gamefolder default is "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Delta Force Black Hawk Down\DFBHDMED.EXE"

also as KMILK says your comp specs may not be enough to run DFBHDMED correctly

please list your system specs so as to get a better idea of possible problems

if you have resloved this problem please istate how you overcame this problem so as to help others in the future having the same problem
