Mine fields in DFX TDM maps
I have searched the forum extensively and read several topics on mine fields. But none seem to be relevant to DF Xtreme or Team Deathmatch maps.
I have read about barrels underground, empty explosions, group this and area trigger that.....
What I want to do is place a minefild that only kills the player standing on the mine, not his whole team. Now he could be red or blue.
Can anyone help me out here.
I am using DFX MED.
Cheers

I only do SP maps, so someone else might know more about doing this in an MP map, but you should be able to do this using events.
set up an area trigger (the minefield) where, when a red player or blue player is in it, they are killed.

Never a good idea to mine Multi Player games..aleays a bit tricky to set up, and always danged annoying for the player..
You could try a variation on the out of mission area, but I don't know if that works with Multi Player Games..

mines
I don't see why it would annoy people in mutiplayer maps. Well I suppose it wound if they were not marked as mine areas.
I have found a mine area in the item lists, I think it is under markers. I'll try this when I get time. Maybe it is as simple of just putting one of
these down.

In fact you should see two types of mine field unmarked and marked.
And yes all you have to do is put it down.

Yep, it works fine, just place either of the two types of mine field unmarked and marked and anyone who walks over it is turned into red mist !
Now lets take this further........
This is for Team Deathmatch remember.
Is there a way to add a kill onto the opposing team score when you die on a minefeild?
So if a member of the red team walks over and is killed on a mine that is portecting blues base, the blue team should notch up one kill on their
score.

like Chris said "no" however the score of the players team that hits the mine should go down(not sure if this scoring applies in DFX)
something you could try is to assign (SSN???)the mine field to the team(group??) or player(SSN???) but more than likly it would just assign to the
marker, not the players therefore wont work.
but its worth a try

Sorry folks my brain doesnt start working properly for games until after the working day.
Falcon is correct it will not increase either teams score but if a player gets blown up then his score and the overall team score will reduce.
Mine fields as far i see it is like a purple team that effects both sides.
I hope this helps

If his score reduces then thats good. Otherwise there would be no penalty for dying.
It will be great for my enclosed maps. I'll put minefields all arond the outside to catch anyone who finds a way out. :P
