MED vs Nile
I've used the MED program to make some single player missions Black Hawk Down, and now I'm using it for DF Xtreme. I'm thinking of using NILE once
I switch my computer from WinME to WinXP.
But can anyone provide the pros-cons of the two? One is a little easier to use, one has more features, one has ...
thanks

At this present time i have to say that the med wins hands down. All the events work in it they dont in nile.
But when they fix the events in nile i will move onto it because of the 3d view but until they sort the events i would use the med.

Sounds like I'll stick with MED then. Is it possible to flip between the two?

Personally I wouldn't think so Jonathan. I would stick with the MED for the time being. Like Chris said the events work, it is also much more
stable.

From my experience there is no way to switch from .mis to .npj... That would be cool , but alas.. not yet...
However when converting from npj to mis then it messed up all me places. Places are items I'v placed on the map except for the ai's. Wierd. So to sum
up.. use NILE only or use DFXMED only do not switch between the two.
Unless I'm missing something, GUYS???
There are some work arounds for placing a few kinds of powerups using NLH (niles little helper), a separate program. If interested I can supply the
link to the tutorial for that..

Thanks guys. Based on feedback and some researching online DF web sites, I'll probably stick with the MED editor.

If only events and powerups would work in nile, now wait a sec.
I use both however the 3d placement in MED is a pain, unless you all know of a way to line objects up better than the tutorial suggests.
All they would have to do is incorporate the 3d shaded tool into the MED and I would say no more. That one tool, view editing, whatever you want to
call it is worth its weight in gold, well maybe silver...
(Insert end of rant here)
