problem with host/join on new cable drop line
i have 2 computers hooked up with a router to a cable line.. they work great.. i can host on one and join with the other..this is not my problem.. i
wanted to run a dedicated server without using my current cable line, so i had the cable company put in a new drop strictly for the server.. the
server has its own cable modem and seperate ip addy.. the problem is that i cant join it with either of my other computers or host on one of my other
computers and join with the server.. they just wont connect..
other people can connect to it, just not me.. this second line is supposedly installed just as if a neighbor was to have cable internet installed..
this is driving me nuts.. all the $ and i cant connect.. now what i do know is that they have a seperate ip addy, but the default gateway is the
same..according to the cable company everyone around me has the same default gateway..HELP!!! i tried to ping the server from my other computers to no
prevail
