Trojan in DJ download ?

Anyone getting a Trojan alert in the DJ download from here, that is linked to DBArena.

http://www.dfbarracks.com/downloads/index.php?action=df&fid=...

Warning was from AVG v7.

I have tried it 3 times and all come up with a Downloader.Istbar.8.K infection.

I read on their site that they were hacked a few days ago and wonder if some files were also tampered with.

I have the DeepJungle_1.6.zip version and wanted to try the modded one from here, with the Med and Desktop shortcuts included.

Tried it with direct download twice and once using a D/L manager, all were infected.

PC is totally clean from any Virus's, Spyware, etc. :(

Hi Chris.

I got it down OK on another PC, no infection was found, so I am fully scanning my other PC tomorrow, with everything I can throw at it. It may have been a false positive from AVG, so will try another A/V on it, as a secondry test.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused, but I reported it, just in case it was infecting everyone else. I know what this crap can cause to peoples PC's, etc.

Thanks for taking the time you wasted downloading the file, it was much appreciated. I will let you know if I find anything tommorow.

Cheers. :D

there is no problem at all mate at the end of the day we prefer to know about problems with files as soon as possible.

thank you

I created this file myself..so I know it's clean...

Sometimes..if the PC your downloading on, is not up to date with all the Windows Patches...you will get a trojan pickup on the way down..

Some trojans will pickup your PC just because it's connected to the net...you really need to be vigalant against such events...I'm using Norton's 2005, it has a trojan detector that works well..I often get a stoppage just after I dial up..and haven't been anywhere yet..!!

My PC also runs "Spy Sweeper" which, after the update last night, detects some 83,000 different variants..

Thanks for posting...as Chris says, we still need to look into these sorts of things..

BTW..this file was uploaded to DFArena after the Forum was hacked..and there where no virurs found at DFArena after the attack..

Regards
EE
