OK..so you have dropped the file size of the full download to 177 meg..

That's Cool..

And the patch is about 1.2 meg..

But...there's always a but..LOL

The installer assumes you have installed to the C: drive..and offers no options as to where your install really is..

I hope the new full version has a better installer, that gives you the correct options..and creates a proper shortcut, with the /mod f_conflict /d

We have posted a new download for Deep Jungle here at DFB..with an installer I wrote with NSIS..the same installer that you guys used..

http://www.dfbarracks.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=34457

I figured out the shortcuts for the desktop..it wasn't that hard..

Here is the nsi file I wrote..

Right click on the link and "Save Target As"..

http://images.dfbarracks.com/users/eagleeye/deep/DeepJungle....

You can use it for tips on how to fix yours..

I was going to create a whole new installer for your mod as well..but, getting it back up is a problem for me..I only have dialup here..as it was, I had to send a copy of the Deep Jungle Installer to Major Headache..at a friends place using her adsl..

Don't say I never support your Mod..

I just want the Public to have the best..

This is why I post comments here..sort of a Beta Test..to let you know what to fix..

All I ever seem to get back is crap..maybe this time you will appreciate what I have given you..

Don't forget the give me credit if you use it...

I'll let that comment slide...

If you need help..you need but ask..!!

I'm no Expert..but I know a lot about everything..and everything about nothing..!! LOL..

You should use the latest version of NSIS..

http://nsis.sourceforge.net/

Also the editor...you will find a link at the above site..

Here's what I have so far for your Mod..but I haven't been able to get the desktop Icons to use your supplied Icon..Yet !!

http://images.dfbarracks.com/users/eagleeye/bhdmod/FinalConf...

Put this in your BHD folder, the one with the mod in it..

Install NSIS

Run it..click on make nsisw..

Drag the nsi file into the window..and wait..

The new exe file will be created it the BHD folder..

Mine was about 251 megs..not bad !!

Oh..lets not forget I made mine with the old install that had been patched...

So it still contains the unused data from the stuff you deleted..

Your best doing this with the new clean install version..then you will get a better file size..

OK..

This script will create an installer for Final Conflict 2.4 that will install into a folder of your choice..

It will create destop icons with the correct install path along with the correct / notations..

ie..

/mod f_conflict /d for the Game

/mod f_conflict for the med

It will also install the icons using the ones you supplied.

Please pass this on to Razor if he is the one doing your installer..

Use it on the New download..not the patched one..

Give me credit as well..or I'll be very unhappy..

Me again..LOL..

I also noticed the Icons you used only contained 1 format..for Win XP.

So, I created 2 new ones, that contain the 9 usual formats..like the standard BHD icon..

http://images.dfbarracks.com/users/eagleeye/bhdmod/FC_Icons....

Using these means that the user will have the correct size/depth icon no matter what versions of windows they are using..

Thanks EE

I'm sure this info will come in handy.
After talking to LOA the other day it seems that seeing his models hes never seen in a game has renewed some more interest in modding and Crack and LOA and Razor has some huge plans for Final Conflict in the future. But I will relay this info and see if we can use this for a fix for the previous version and any future versions. Thanks again.

Just downloaded the mod yesterday and it installed to my C drive. Unfortunately my game is on my G drive (which I directed it to during the install process).

However it was a very simple matter to just move everything over (minus the multiplayer maps).

What we really need is some sort of central Mod Depot that blends all new mods together into one operational update, or a way to have everything install itself into 1 update. And provide appropriate credit for the modders of course.

Then I wouldn't need 5 separate installs of BHD to run everyones mod.

:(
