loony...

*YAWN* Oh.. sorry... anyway, yet another problem...

I started making a brand new map this evening. tested it once just to see what it looked like. It was fine. So I added stuff in and went to test it and bad news. It didnt start. It showed the world in the background, loading mission topgraphy etc and then it said stndby for insertion and then nothing happened. I tried for hours to find the problem, but nothing happened. Ive got about 11 AI, a few buildings (desert building, Jap house, guard tower with shack, metal walls, checkpoint open, Large tower, Mostly house 1,2,3 and the usual decorations. Completely normal. I had three flags which i though was the problem, i deleted them and still nothing. And Ive also got this weird thing in my map list. A map with four question markes and square appeared from nowehere and keeps climbing up the ladder. Whats happening? I just want to submit one final map before I leave the barracks for possibly a long, long time. Please help.

very very confusing :o i mean squares climbing ladders, it could be anything, you could try copying all the items into a fresh map and puttin the terrain etc in agen and deleting the old one and try it that way , obviously you don't have too many itmes or anything, how come you will be leaving the barracks ???

try that

open a new blank map page put in terrain and all the sky etc , then copy all your items you want from the map that is "acting weird" and place them in the new map where they were in the old map and save it. if that doesn't work i don't know

just hope ee or someone can help you !!:)

I'm afraid there is very little I can do. Ive already tried the copy and paste, but it still wouldnt work. My only choice is to make a new one. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!)

And to answer your question,
I'm on holidays in NSW in a mining town in the middle of the desert called Broken Hill to visit my mum. I'm here until Sunday, thats when I leave to go back to Darwin. I used to be able to visit the barracks from the school computers, but some #*&@% idiot teacher has cut me off from the site and i cant access it. I know who the teacher is and if I had a sniper rifle, he'd be sorry alright.

Yeah mate. Back to that stuffy, humid unit where secuirty is absolute priority. (to dad that is, shuts everything up during the day keeping the tropical humidity inside the unit)...

Anyway, good news, I found out what the problem was.

It was the sounds i had in the map. They were all JAPAN_SKY, ground, loop etc. I dont know how or why they caused the map to fail, but i got rid of them and edited the map and its now almost ready to be submitted.
