16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem - Error Message When You Install a Program

If your getting this error, try this..it's a link to the Microsoft Knowledge base..

"16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem" Error Message When You Install a Program

Actually, the answer is as easy as locating your autoexec.nt file, and copying it to your windows/system32 folder

You will find a copy in the c:Windows/repair folder..

The easiest way to find it is..

Start/Seach/for files or folders
click on all files and folders
type autoexec.nt into the search box.

When it's located..right click on it, and copy..

Use Windows Explorer to locate the windows/system32 folder, and paste a copy in there..

Which fix did you use..?

Mine or the download?

I haven't used the download..and will not vouch for it's origin, but, others have use it with no probs..

Maybe something else has happened?

How old is your OS install..do you use a Virus Checker, Worm Intrusion and Spyware programs to keep the "Baddies" away?

i can vouch for where it came from, it came from the good ppl at HP (the computer company) i have used it on all my computers and numerous ppl here have used it with no probs. If i knew there was something wrong with it i would have never put it up for the good ppl here to use, you can check all the post for ppl i have givin it to, and they will tell you it fixed their prob. So if you had a prob with it, it was either your computer or you did something wrong with the patch.

If there was something wrong with it I would have never used it on my own computer nor my bros.
