vaporizing?


i was reading that thread on erespawning vehicles... Hairy mentioned vaporizing already destroyed vehciles. Does that remove them for good or something?? Cos I use it in my missions as the kill trigger... or am i just reading things wrong? Also, with the mod for LW/TFD/DF2 editor thing..... i got all the items, but i cant get the dialog or those transmission things..
Do you understand me?

oh yeah and can anyone tell me how i can prevent ppl and players from walking through buildings... its really annoying me.

HELLO!? Im talking to YOU! I spose you want more info...
ok, so i got my D-Day map right... for some reason in thelanding craft, me and about 4 other friendlies keep falling through the floorboards and into the water... I manage to get out, but the other four get stuck and do nothing for the whole landing. I want them to get out there and help the rest of us storm the beach. So I fixed the map 20 times. Adjusted water level etc etc. That seemed to work, but now it looks like the landing craft is flooded. So I lowered the water and made the AI instantly move out of the craft, none get stuck, but I lied it better when there was a delay before they leaped off. Cos then some would get cut don right in front of you, just like when it happened June 6th, 1944.
Also, I keep running through the hedgehogs. Its annoying cos now i have no cover. PLEASE HELP!!!

Yes vaporizing removes the item from the map for good. you might want to make your kill trigger the "kill group" and not vaporize.

and the fix for the glitching problem is an easy one but you wont like it. you have too many ai's and objects in the same area. so to fix it you need to cull the herd. or spread them out more. How many ai's are at the start of the map? how many objects are used? how large an area?
Probably too many in a small area.

well, think of my D-Day map in the database. Its pretty much the same location as that one, but each landing craft (six all up) has about 3 groups of at most 7 AI in them. In the water beside the landing craft, there are some small groups of AI. There are hedge hogs scattered across the beach, most are closer to the water's edge. I got a few barrels here and there and where the defences are, theres about 120 AI sitting up there. Maybe 15 sandbag bunkers(curved and two square). There is a castle tower connected by three castle walls behind them, then another castle tower. I did have AI up there, but ever since the glitch happened, they kept falling and dying. So I put em all in front. I was thinking of changing the landing location, but i cant cos the CD drive is being @*#$^*@#$^ annoying. Cant play LW. Or anything you need a disc for!

oh yeah and there are 3 of those ships from DF2 further out in the sea, behind each one is a pair of T-80s, when we win, they come driving in to land at the beach. I also got sounds (OILRIG-WATER or OCEAN or something) maybe about 12 sounds. It looks good, just the glicth, but its nothing bad just that it gets annoying sometimes.

120 ai's on that whole island would be about max before it starts doing some wierd stuff. take a couple ais out of each team and try it, repeat until the glitching ends. also you may want to eliminate the castle parts completly before the ai because the castle walls and towers use up alot of memory.
