who took tfd???:o
TFD isnt the greatest game in the world, but still fun at times. The weapons the enemy have dropped are more detailed than LW. But all Novo games are good!
I still have to get TFD off my friend too.
And is there anyway to prevent a helo from seeing you, without having to put it on blind or deaf? If you look in the public forum at one of the threads - ai being smart - you'll see my idea for a map.
I want the helo to circle before landing, making it look like its checking for hostiles (like they really would) before landing to drop the supplies. But if you move (area trigger), the helo will see you and depending on what youve done, it will engage you, alerting the bgs, or fly off, still alerting the bgs. And if the bgs are alert, their accuracy will become higher. If you nail a whole heap of them, any survivors will attempt to flee. I want to make the map now, but im at school.:(
oh well, always time when i get home:)

set them for blind then have an event that will make them see with a delay of about....30 seconds or so would probably work. and to get it to circle just have a few waypoints around the last one, sorta like a curl.

ok sounds reasonable. I was thinking that its blind, but if you move into an area trigger while its nearby, it'll see you and fly off OR attack you - still trying to figure out how thats gonna work:)

Maybe set it for when you attack the ai's it turns tails and then the ai's run for cover. calling in reinforcments if that happens. Thats going to be alot of events!

The idea you posted in the public forum is a great idea.

I got the idea from the WTTS (Weapons Training something Simulator - have i said that already) anyway, there are four of you in this room, each with an F88 steyr and about 3 mags. Your CO must decide what to do. Two whole cadet units (my unit and our nemesis:D) watched for about 10 mins, wating for the four adults to do something )one of them being my unit's CO, he served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner and HAS BEEN in a combat situation) after a while, they all opened up on about 10 ai bgs. 8 of them were cut down instantly (you should have heard it) and the other two did a legger and bolted off.
Ive had an idea for another map too, but still thinking of how its gonna work.

I've made the map, took me a very long time to finish, and on an empty stomach lol:) I found like hundreds of things that are wrong with it. But, all in all, I reckon its pretty good. Just need to fix up a couple things, maybe move some things around etc. what else... hmmm...
area triggers being a tool again. But I'll keep trying till its fully ready.

Nothing beats testing a map until your so sick of it you dont want to look at it anymore! but the concept sounds good. Im sure its going to be a ton of events to get it to work the way you want it to. but all in all it should be worth it.

I hope your father gets better, pneumonia is more serious than some people believe.

The more events the better the map if done right. I tend to have about 30 in my maps.

Thanks i got one too many sysdumps so i made that avatar to sort of complain on the ok button were stuck with.

heh cool.
Dad is getting better though. Had an x-ray the other day, showed these white specks in his lungs. Thats the pneumonia.
I havent been at the barracks for a while, cos im sort of talking with this girl at school most lunch times and stuff. Its all going good!:D:D:D
also, Ive almost given up on the map. Ive started a new one, its only in its infant stages, but it will soon be ready, I might try those eerie horizon effects on it.

yeah, i managed to get the dang teleports to work...its been a while though.
BTW, I made a new map after watching Saving Private Ryan for the first time on saturday. For the hedge hogs or tank traps, i got radar dishes (destroyed) - it looks dodgy, but hey:P - and about 120 dudes on my team, a castle up the beach with about 100 dudes there. To my disappointment, the dudes running up the beach mainly get cut down by friendly fire. Including myself.:( But I made it cos i felt like it. Only for fun. We have to run 300 metres dodging rockets and mg fire. scary stuff.
Now I know how those who stormed Normandy beach felt.
