DFTFD items to DFLW


I started adding some stuff from TFD to LW, now we can use the Def files...thanks DV..

You can also add new skinned items as well as keep the old one....

I'm adding to the DF2 to items for DFLW, so, we can have the items from all 3 games in one..




New signs can be done..



Reskinned Sam..to snow covered..

I was working last night on a textfile that lists which ID numbers are already being used in DFLW and also being used by EXP so as to preserve Terranova's work. I've made it through the items.def and will be tackling the other.def files to see if there's anything in there I need to add. Should be available by tomorrow at the latest.

Question, are there any known ID numbers that absolutely cannot be used?

Do you have to pack the new items.def and the 3DI/textures/skins into the PFF or does it work with /d ?

It will work with the /D don't forget the space,Through out the time i haven't found a number that didn't work yet Hairy.As i passed on to EE he could use the entire item script from TFD in the LW def as the numbers start with a 2 and everything is the same,This cuts down on typing its just a matter of cutting and pasting and then maybe adding something to the name to help people know it is a mod,For example when i started a few months back i used (TFD) in front of the names

this was just for testing the items,All 3di files can be put into the pff with out the textures and still work ,They will show up checkered like.You will even come across some in the tfd.pff that were never used before either,

You could even trnsfer a few of the terrians over as well if your energetic.I found it easy doing all the same type buildings first such as the cia ,cas,huts ,city buildings as they went really fast.Also keep an eye out for husks in TFD that weren't in LW this will add more S&D targets to the game,Also Check out the items in lw that have husks that aren't targts and make them targets,Everyone likes to blow things up i kow i do lol,

I have here on my desk top pretty much every file in tfd already converted over with all the textures and all the items numbers done up.I gave EE first offer on them to cut down his work so he can spend more time on his new skinning.

But if Terranova has already done this job (to 99%), why not simply finish the remaining 1%, and add any skinned items to that...?

I know Q, Terras mod was almost done and how it worked was,The person would already need TFD on there pc to make the mod work,If they didn''t then they wouldn't get the new items,They never even released it,I have it myself but its messed up,Also the df2 mod for tfd is messed up unless it was fixed in the last few weeks,What the problem was with it was in the def file there was a number 1 as a header and there for it wouldn't read in the game and there for you would have to reinstall the orginal def file back and you still wouldn't have the mod.

1<------- shouldn't be there take this out and it will work fine.

Well. all working here so far..

I installed the DF2 Items for LW, and I'm adding to DV's Def file. so. DF2 and DF$ items will appear in LW..so, you will need to install the DF2 items first..then this mod..and you won't need to have TFD installed, I'll put all the required files in the installer

Speaking of installer, does anyone have a copy of Raven's Mod installer? I'll be needing one...

I've also added the objectives, people names and waypoint names from TFD..

NOTE 1: items in the TFD def file list that start with 1, are also found in LW..items that start witha 2 are from TFD and so you can just use the def file as is, and just change the description to (TFD) item name..

NOTE 2: The TFD terrains have already been transferred, I'm pretty sure I got my copies at DFArena.

Steps to do so:

1:Rename original 3di to your title

2:Rename the textures beening used

3:Open 3di in Hex and change the names of original images to yours:Hex version below :

names in yellow are the ones you need to change.Along with if you 3di uses pcx which some do.Just overwrite the orignale with the same legth name or you can make totally new ones any lenght but requires more work.I usually just change teh one letter or so in a name such as HFAC31W.TGA ==fFAC31W.TGA and or HhAC31W.TGA



4:Open the def file and add your uniqu lines in there with its own id number:

Anyone know why the Gazelle wasn't part of the DF2 EXP? It runs a little weird and silently but its a great looking object that at the very least I'd like to have as a decoration. Here it is in my DFLW, I'm going to try and figure out how to give it sound.

Hey i think i know them guys ,I'll ship ya more this weekend EE ,I never got much done tonight other than a few textures for TXP2,And new items over.I'll check the list and see what else needs to be sent over/done i'll probably texture some new walls ect ect if ya want them,

We're gonna need to slow down..zipped, my completed folder is over 20 megs, so, it's gonna be a big download, we should try and keep it not much bigger than this..

I'll add the pickup trucks tonight, and take a lok at the file size, +, we still need an installer....have you got someone who can do this, I can load the completed zip up my my DFB folder for you to download if need be,,or, if you have a copy of an installer that I can setup, it will be easier..then I can upload and post it here at DFB, and create a News Item for it as well.
