Winter Olympics > Olympics
But both aren't that exciting in my opinion, not to mention right at the same time as pre-season NFL, wth is that, bad scheduling Olympics guys.

Too all those who said Rugby players are alot tougher then American football players, all I got to say is this, try playing American Football without
pads and see how long you last without being paralyzed. Rugby players wouldnt stand a chance in American Football with or without
pads..............enough said.....

Yep that would be right....and logical...
In american foot ball a player can be taken out without the ball, anywhere on the feild that means that he can be hit unexpectently..
I rugby and League only the player with the ball can be tackled, and from a on side direction
Serious accidents are common in 'social' games of rugby more so than in club games...the reason is due to late tackles and players not expecting a
hit.
Sure we get touring Amercan football teams come over here and they shake there heads in wonder at rugby and no paddind...they think its is crazy ....
It all comes back to both games being COMPetlyt different in game play.

I'm sure you got some tough guys over on your side of the pond, but playing American football without pads is suicide........ I'd love to see my
Aussie bros playing some good old fashion "smear the queer" without any protection with pro Am. F ballers.....

Well the way I see it you American 'football' (football is a game played with a round ball that you kick) guys basically stand in line waiting to
'hit' each other, not much chance for a surprise there lol.
Ive also seen some of those NFL guys sitting on the bench with oxygen masks on because they are so fat, not what I would call athletes. :D

if you knew what they did then youd understand, its very complicated to explain, you have to play to understand or be a "Yank" (i prefer
Texan....lol), i dont understand rugby, looks interesting, and want try to play it.

"i dont understand rugby, looks interesting, and want try to play it."
Basically
1/u cant pass forward, so u must be behind the ball to recieve it , even in a ruck (all in a pile fighting over who gets it lol)
2/can only tackle/block the guy with the ball
2/players defensive and offensive
3/There are no 'time outs' its hard out the whole 80 mins, with 5 min break at 1/2 time (2 1/2s not 1/4s) Substutions are limited and for injury.
4/The ball must be under control and actually pressed to the ground to get a 'touch down' (the opposition are able to hold the ball off the ground
with a hand or body under it to prevent a touch down)
As u can see the basic concepts of the game are very different.

Well, if you weighed close to 400lbs and ran around for 60 mins, Id bet youd have an oxygen tank too lol.
Not all of them are that big though in fact, only a small % of them are that large....

My low point of the Olympics was Paula Radcliffes in the Marathon and then 10000m a pity that the course and mostly the conditions could destroy such
a great athlete.
The high points so far Amir Khan getting to the final of the lightweight boxing at the ripe old age of 17!!
Also Mathew Pinsent getting his 4th consectutive gold in the rowing - will he go again to match Steve Redgrave?
Worth a mention today was that the USA Basketball (is it the dream team or a nightmare?) team can only get bronze HE HE.
And what about the womens 4 x 100 relay, USA quote ' there's the baton.....wait.....wait......WAIT.....SLOW DOWN'..............oooooopppppssssss:D
