DRIVE ISNT THERE!!!!


K i gotta ppretty big prob here. i have 2 cd- drives (M, N). so i turn my comp on and none are workin. i go to my computer and both cd drives M and N arent there. so i reboot and now one of em (drive M) works but the other doesnt. now when i go to my computer it shows that drive M is there but says cd drive N still isnt. also drive N wont open either. need sum serious help here! thnx:P

ok if ur willing... open ur case and check that the cables are connected properly at the back of the drives.. if one wont open it more than likely doesn't have a power connector in properly... or it has died. if u have a cd in the drive, and need it there is a trick to opening a drive.. so let us know :)

2. what is this trick to opening cd drives.

3. what can i do without opening the drive. does the drive not getting power have anythign to do with this?

1. if your not willing, you'll have to pay someone..

2. Look at the front of the drive..you see that little hole...get a pin, or a paper clip, and push it in the hole, that's the manual release..then pull open the drawer to get the cd out.

3. not sure what you mean..!!??

Has your PC been doing other strange things? How many drives do you have altogether, including HD's? Is this a custom built PC, or a "Name " brand name? has anyone moved it lately? has anyone else opened the case lately? How old is it ?

yea it def lookx like the wiring is not right cuz the M drive is there sumtimes and isnt there sumtimes so that tells me the M drive cable is loose while the N drive cable is def like loose as hell. u guys agree? also yea i guess ma comp is rpetty old bout 4 years old. good thing is theres no cd in teh D so i wont have to open it.so i guess it time to open the case.also my comp is freezing ALOT lately does the inside of my comp not being dusted have ne thing to do wi tit? thnx again:o
