yeah it asks if u want to install it... but that's pretty much a standard install question.. if u have an uptodate PB then installing an older version
would sort of be counter productive

I've been holding off buying JO because I heard about the cheating.. I despise cheaters. I'm not real good, but I would never stoop so low to
cheat.

wekk know if the cheat, they have to buy a new hard drive coz PB now banning there systems to like they have started to do with americas army BANN

Wouldn't someone just have to reformat to get unbanned? Buying a new hard drive doesn't make sense to me... :o
Oh well I can't play AA or JO anyways since I'm on dial up, but am curious as to why a cheater would have to buy a new harddrive instead of
reformatting...

No it works on various numbers ie. mainboard etc anyone who runs a legit copy of xp and swapped boards will know what i mean .. Also if banned from jo
by pb u will be banned from all games that support pb.. if anyone needs info i can post the link and nova have put pb inplace on there servers now

You speak for yourself EE I have an original copy of J\O which is available in Australia and I agree with A.B.
If NovaLogic put PB on the CD why don't they run it on thier severs

If any of u have checked. Nova have enabled it they did days ago after the latest update ....
And for the rest read between the lines:
The cost of hacking on PunkBuster servers has just gone up significantly. PunkBuster now computes Hardware GUIDs for various pieces of hardware on
players' systems while playing on PunkBuster servers. We use multiple private one-way hashes so that no serial number information for individual
computers can be determined by admins or anyone else who may try to obtain this information from a Hardware GUID (and as always, no personal
information of any kind is examined, stored or transmitted by PunkBuster). When players raise a violation that corresponds to hacking or interfering
with PunkBuster's normal operation, we now (in addition to Global PB GUID bans) are Globally banning the new Hardware GUIDs across all games supported
by PunkBuster (including games supported in the future).
So punks who are determined to cheat so badly on PB-enabled servers that they try to hack PunkBuster may now need a new computer in addition to a new
cdkey in order to return to PunkBuster servers. As with previous PB GUID Global bans, the new Hardware GUID bans are permanent and will not be lifted.
As always, players who are affected by these Global bans will still be able to play on non-PB servers. Honest users should never "test" hacks that
claim to interfere with PunkBuster. We have successfully tested this new feature set over the past few weeks for a few supported games and will be
rolling it out to all supported games over the next few days and weeks. Additionally, PunkBuster servers will be updated to signify whether kicks for
Global bans are for PB GUIDs or the new Hardware GUIDs.

During the Beta Testing, I wondered if Nova was going to run thee PB on all thier servers and to my surprise, the comment was something like this.
PB will be slowly upgraded to all servers over time. The point of having PB is to make for a better playing filed on our servers. This will take time
to get all servers upgraded to PB Standards.
Now the way I see it, JO was expected to be this HUGE MP Hit and buy letting ppl know that PB was going to be apart of JO that would bring more ppl to
buying it to boost sales.
I am not against Nova, but I left Nova Games to play more supported games then what Nova offers. Lack of support for LW-BHD.
JO took away a lot of gametypes by default for most of the ppl I know so that all chose to move on.
Not running PB off the bat with release is not a good thing, and plus PB Know has to run under Adminstration Account on you PC.
SO Nova is looking at all age groups and permissions groups.
I plaY Americas Army and ALL Server Official or leased are PB Enable to play, plus you have to be a Admin of your pc to play the game online. Hence
Cheating is being stopped at the door and not in the server.
I Agree AB, just wish there was more default installed gametypes.
Still doing Beta for Nova but not interested in the Gmae enough to buy it.

I know this has been discussed way too much already, but I got a dumb question
How to tell which servers are Nova servers? Is it only the ones with more than 64 player max?? And I'm assuming that in the PB column of the game
list if it has the red slash through it then that server does not have PB enabled? And if that column is empty than PB is enabled? Sry for all the
questions, but I have 4 servers showing on the West Coast game list over 64 player max and only one of them has no red slash on PB column. I emailed
Nova asking and this is the response I got...... "Punkbuster is enabled on ALL of the official NovaWorld servers. That's
what the marking in the PB category represents. Make sure you have the
game fully updated."

Servers that have PB running have the blue circle with the red border and slash, that is the PB symbol. If it isn't in the PB column, then that
server is not running PB.

I AGREE that PB should be a part of ALL the games, not just the NOVA hosted games. PB is "hehe" 1 of the reasons i bought JO, because i was totally
fed up with DFLW which was full of cheats. Not to mention BHD. but still JO by far has the best graphics going !! hands down, they spanked them
all.... GRIZZ.

The official Nova servers have a big Nova N next to them. There are unofficial servers with more than 64.. is AUS we currently have a 150 Player
server, non Nova.

PB should be on all servers as far as I'm concerned. But do you concider the people running these weapons mods cheating???? I do!! how can someone
carry 40 satchels charges, 100 grenades for the M203?? that's cheating too. MY OPINION ONLY!!!!

it's not cheating, because for a mod to be running everyone has to have the same mod. so it's still an even playing field. no unfair advantage to any
one person.

Reason I know is because I actually got this mod for JO, I've tested it to see if it works!! AND THE [Censored] IT DID!!!
This really screws up the game, I was able to join Punk Buster servers, also I had Punk Buster enabled myself! So I guess Punk Buster needs a serious
update people, this is outragous. It is a simply file that is placed in your JO folder and then you edit your shortcut, how I'm not gonna tell, but it
is quite easy and anyone with a little knowledge on these things could easily make themself have a 30x zoom on sniper rifles!!
And just for the note: I've only tested it for the test. It is a cheat and it have to be stopped somehow!!

Concerning Punkbuster
Maybe(and I use the word lightly) PB wasn't enabled on those servers to allow a horde of cheaters to start playing to get a sense of
security because to this date PB hasn't even been put into play, and maybe, just maybe(there's that word again) PB is waiting for
enough cheats to get into the wild before flipping the PB switch. Note: Below you will find a pasted result from punkbusted.coms site
showing that no cheats have been purged yet;
