Have you checked firewall / router? That may be the problem joining online games.

In your control panel, go to system icon, open it, click the 'general' tab, and re-post the RAM specs, (.99 doesnt sound correct).

We all get the swap file message, can you just click ok and let the game start? Our server even gets that message, but we loaded a nifty little program that auto clocks the error message, the game starts fine once the ok is clicked.

Some claim that disabling error reporting in windows will fix it, or rather ignore it. Seems to work on some systems and not on others.

Control Panel>System>Advanced>error reporting.

Cheers

Something we have noticed and tested with BHD...which is only 1 step up from LW...

Dual cores dont like games. Matter of fact, with all the new vid cards and processors etc, alot of the older games are no longer supported...Just a thought.

This seems like the sound card problem in dflw, df2, tfd. Realtek high difinition sound cards make the game get stuck at joining session. I made a patch for this and can be downloaded from my site http://www.dfzone.be (it's at the home page called 'joining session patch').

I have realtek audio on my MOBO, Had absolutly no sound in DFLW at all, and teamspeak was crappy sounding.

Dual core prcessors work great for newer games, but games made for single core prcessors will use core 0, wich is the same as your OS. to get it on core 1, open the game then drop to desktop. open taskmanager and open the processes tab. right click on the correct .exe and select "set affinity" if CPU 0(as MS calls it) only is selected check CPU 1 and have 0 unchecked. If both are checked dont worry about it.

change the initial swop file value to 3069 leave the max alone its ok to do this click start then control panel, then system icon then advanced find virtual memory seting click that then change the initial size of the swap file then click set then apply then ok. restart pc that should solve it.
