Creating a Check Point for SP missions

Welcome to Eagle Eye's short tut on Creating a Checkpoint,
like those used in the DFX Single Player Missions.

Please Note: I haven't tested on Coop..I'm pretty sure it
only works on SP missions.

You don't need anything special here..no teleporting of
Player Spawns..it's all done with the player Waypoint, and
the Adavancement Event.

Place your Player Start. Then setup a waypoint list for
the Player.

Setup an event to be the Advancement Event. It just needs
a Trigger, no action.

Now, selct the first waypoint, or the one where you want the
Spawn/Check point to be.

Now, edit the item attributs of the Waypont, and select your
event as the Advancement Event.

Now, when you are killed, you go back to the main screen..
When you respawn, the game knows that you where at the set
waypoint, and will respawn you there..

You can download the Demo Mission HERE

YAY

For the record, we tried this in MC Coop missions and it works great!!! thank you for saving my auto run and scroll lock fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
instead of creating an arbitrary reason for respawn, use , "when player reaches waypoint" for your advancement event. it works like a charm

Creating Checkpoint Visual Example

1.Set the BlueTeamWP. Player will follow these from the start points.

2.Script an Advancement Event along with Win Goal Event. The Event TakeoverA will now make the players start point the waypoint selected from the BlueplayersWP list.

3.Select the BluePlayerWp that will be the player start point after event TakeOverA.

thanx...but...

Thanx thath helps that problem, but i want to know how to make teammates spawn, cuz i made a really enemy infested mission and i want my teammates to keep coming back and helping me lol. and i want them to start everything over. for example: in the beggining of my mission, my teammates get in a helo and go to their waypoints. Thay get killed pretty qucik, and i would want them to spawn back at the beggining and get back in the respawned chopper, and do that sequence all over agin...how do i get them to do that? If any1 could help me out with this, that would be great!:D

Well, I suppose you could stuff around with teleports to bring the helo and AI closer as you progress through the game..but I'd make them indestructable..then they won't get killed and have to respawn..

THX

Thx m8. I was messing around with MEd today and i think i found a way to make them respawn. In the item attributes there is a Spawns thing that lets u set how many times they spawn at their original start point.
