Need help with events

the GA server does not allow armory killing, so I am trying to make and armory so that if you kill inside of it, it automaticaly kills you. I put area triggers around the armory, and I tried getting the commands to say that if Blue Team group kills inside of the area triggers (i.e. inside of the armory) it kills him. Im totally lost. Could someone help me out? :(

It won't work... the Blue Team (group 1) is really everyone in the game, and the player is the host...

I'm not conversant BHD Map Making, but do you have this option when editing Area Triggers.

You do, but then when you would go into the area trigger, it would remove 10 health every... erm... I think it is half second...

Dave and Alex are both correct...

For the simple reason that I'm assumeing this event is for a TDM or another gametype and not a singleplay or Coop map... If you just want to fake someone out and kill them...id use the trigger in the area and dump a negative health as Dave showed in the pic. -100 kills instantly.

But Alex is right in the fact that it wont work in a multi-player game when fighting with other human players. Players cant be used to trigger an event, only objects or stepping into the area to cause an effect that will kill them.

Well, reading Fireant's post, and I did think of something... it would probably only work for base armories though... say it is the blue team armory, put a few AI's inside that are indestructible on the blue team... it can't guarantee that there will be no armory killing, but it could help...

Like I said earlier, I'm not conversant with BHD Map Making, but with DFX you can adjust the health rate in a " Zone " to either decrease or increase. Some map makers do this to keep ppl on the right track & stops ppl from straying from the objectives.

That's true Dave, but that's for mapping with SP and Coop games.

Any person that enters the Area Trigger will loose health, even the team who is supposed to go in there.

Seeing that no team "Owns" an armory, there no way to do this.

If a team "Owns" an Armory, then you could use AI as above..

I do...wait til you see the map ted smelly and I are working up....we have several ways to kill players.....but only if they shoot the wrong thing or go in the wrong areas....

one option would be to set a 3D area trigger up that takes -1 to -5 health just outside armory and in the hallways leading to armory area then within armory area add a +1 health 3D area trigger or reusable med packs so players who make it inside will replenish life. the reason this may work is most players take their time getting into an enemy armory to bust clays first.

another option is make the armories inaccessible to the other team by using walls and provide a ladder or an exit ramp etc etc to get out and put 1 spawn for that team in the armory and a PSP(you could assign the PSP to blue or red too)
