I found a website that has virtually every router ever made and the settings for virtually every online game, including the screen shots and step by
step instructions to set up any of these routers.
This website is great..I had a server up and running in minutes after reading this..

Typical JOTR isn't there.

I have been trying to get JOTR to host via Nova & get my other PC to connect to same game.
I am on a LAN which is all set up correctly.
I have included the services & opened all of the suggested ports for WAN users and forward to the correct IP for this PC and i can host on Nova & get
others to join.....all except my other PC (enumerating session)
Anyone having probs with getting PPL to join via Nova....disable Norton Worm Protection if you have it, even if you allow JOTR through it keeps asking
for permission all the time, i turned it off and now almost anyone can join via Nova.
:D
I have a Netgear DG835G Router with a reserved IP for the Hosting PC.
I have checked the 'postforward' site, used those ports & set up the appropriate services....still nothing.
I have scoured the web for an answer to this Q? without any success....Nova is useless..........PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
If you require any more info please let me know.

Maybe Steptoe can help, but I think the problem lies with the IP..
Can other people..on the net, join your game?
Is it just your other PC that is the problem?
Cos your serving with your IP, your other PC is also trying to join from the same IP..
I'm only new at this myself..so I could be wrong..

I understand what you are saying...unfortunately Nova don't appear to make it very easy to do this. Do you know of a method/application that i can use
to join by IP?
I can see nothing in the game itself that will allow this.
Hosting with a netgear router modem

I have been struggling to host DFTFD on my netgear dg835g router modem for months, and I tried something I had been toying with but was afraid to
try. All I did was to go into router firewall rules, and set a rule for both the computers on the network, using the ip address of each computer,
giving them full access for inbound and outbound ports on the router. then I used windows firewall to protect the pc. EG (modem router ip is
192.168.0.1) (pc 1 is 192.168.0.2) (pc 2 is 192.168.0.3) The outbound rules are already set, so all you have to do is set the inbound rules for the
other pcs on the network. to the same rules as the outbound.
