Tunnel problem in DFx MED

I've made a small map that has an underground tunnel complex with one entrance. Using the 3D grid view, I was able to lineup all the tunnel pieces. Although now my eyeballs hurt from trying to line up the endcaps with the rooms, and the hallways.

Still there's one tiny problem. The player can enter the tunnel from above, but as soon as he gets about 4/5 down the ladder (6 meter), he can no longer get back up. Plus, while standing topside and peering down, I can see gaps (white areas). Also, when the player moves off the ladder and onto the main underground room, the ladder will disappear. Only by moving back onto the ladder spot will it reappear. While the player can now see the ladder, the top of it is blocked off by the ground above. So still can't get back out.

I've spent two days searching thru most of the DF web site forums reading up on tunnels. I've tried moving the entrance up and down. And moving the underground piece. I'm on a flat area of the map.

Using this link, I tried to manually set the Parent/Blink in the MIS file using Notepad: http://www.novahq.net/?show=tutorials&tid=8 But this didn't do anything for my tunnel.

I've seen others use the tunnel components in their missions correctly. Can someone clue me into tunnels with DFx, or send me their MIS file so I can take a look at it, or I can send them my small tunnel MIS file?

Does the Entrance for a tunnel have to fit ontop of a specific tunnel part and at an exact spot over it?

TIA

Lets begin with entrance, i use DLabE1 with Z value of -6 on flat ground. The easy way of building tunnels is that the X and Y always end on zero's. For instans -110,0 or 94,0. Then take a tunnel piece, DLabT4, and put the edge on top of the edge of the tunnelpiece you want to connect with. Example: DLabE1 has X=442,0 and Y=-240,0 and Z=-6. DLabT4 should have X=436,0 and Y=-240,0 and Z=-6 for leftside.
Hope you can do something with this. :D

That did it. My mistake was that I was attempting to insert the tunnel entrance into the middle of the tunnel lab piece. I didn't realize that it needed to be adjacent to the tunnel lab. And even then it needs to be near the side hole of the tunnel lab section.

Thanks King Snitch.
