Ok, i posted to the same topic in march 04 for BHD map making. At that time i got some nice feedback on that idea, but finally it wasn't put into
practice for BHD.
So now we got a new game here, but the problem still exists. Map Builders put hours and days of work into their creations to provide the JO community
with cool and diversified maps, but often they never know how their work looks like in full action, because there is no tool to check novaworld for
momentarily hosted maps.
I decided, to repeat my appeal for a map checking tool, this time for JOPs:
I'm a JO map builder and i'm missing a tool, that would be very useful for finding maps on novaworld.
Is there anybody out there, who is able to write a small programm, that always runs in background and checks in regular intervals (lets say every 5,
10 or 20 min), if a map name is hostet somewhere on novaworld?
Just like the pinger tool at BHD, but checking automatically and just checking but nothing else. Just a tiny tool.
U enter a bundle of mapnames, u would like to keep an eye on and the tool looks out, if one of these maps is hostet and if it is, then giving u an
announcement, on whitch host it runs, so u can decide to join it via lobby and check your map with real fighting on it.
This would be a very useful tool for all map makers. We no longer would have to give our maps to the community and hope, somewhen, somewhere, maybe
eventually see our maps hostet in the novaworld. That's frustrating.
Another benefit would be the possibility for any player to look out for his favorite maps.
I wished someone would make this...can't be so very much work.

Mopic
