Turning Lights OFF for the Radio Building

Hi, I really need some help on turnig the LIGHTS off of the Radio building when the generator is GONE.
I Print the event that i am using it:

SSN 1 : Generator (In group 18)

Event 60: dlg008......Lights Out, Lets move upstairs

Triggers:


Group 18 has been destroyed

Actions:

Turn Light Group 18 Off

it Does Not work, when the player destoy the generator, the Lights does NOT turn off.

Can some one tell me HOW to turn the light off please???

the building has to be in group 18 not the generator if i remember corectly

Here's my test map..just blow the gen with a flat pack...

Don't put the building in a group at all..

Actions:

Play dialog ID: dlg008
Turn Light Group 0 Off

As mentioned above - you need to have the building in a group - but separate from the generator.

Then when the generator group (18) is destroyed - use that to turn off the lights in the second group (the radio building).

The way you have it written now you are turning off lights of a generator which doesn't have lights anyway.

If you just added the radio building to the generator group the event would never trigger because the building would need to be destroyed as well.

So you need 2 groups, one to trigger and one to turn off the lights then you should be OK.

Or alternately, just use the SSN of the generator to trigger the group for the radio building.

Don't get confused with group, and light group...looks like there is a difference...

The action says light group 0 off

I tried using building in group 10, and

Actions:

Turn Light Group 10 Off

but it didn't work..so I took a look at SPmap 08..Radio Aidid, and they used what I did in my test map..

Building not in a group..and..Turn Light Group 0 Off

So using

Turn Light Group 0 Off

turns off lights in all buildings that have them in the map? How do you differentiate?

This is how Nova did it, in Radio Aidid...I'll do some more testing soon..

Thanks, i figured it out, thnaks.
They way is do, is the way that EE wrote.
The Radio station don't have to be in a group.
EXample:

******************************
SSN 1 : Generator (In group 18)
SSN 64 : Radio Building (NOT in a Group)


Event 60: dlg008......Lights Out, Lets move upstairs

Triggers:


Group 18 has been destroyed

Actions:

Play dialog ID: dlg008
Turn Light Group 0 Off
*********************************

LMAO..well, we have to learn as well, we are just like everyone else...it's not as if we have access to Nova's secrets...

diff group for buildings with lights on

wouldnt putting all other buildings in a group keep the lights on if lights out was for group 0???
