NEED HELP WITH MUSIC I USED SOUNDROOM. ONLY VAR4 80 works.....

Any help with music. Only var4 80 works with Global music 11. I want to use the song Var 83 but it will not work. There is only silence. Im making a map where you play as Yurek. From Irene to Mog mile. 30% done. Any tips would be apreciated.

I've had limited success with the music, here's some notes I made while researching...This research took a lot of time on my part, and still isn't finished, please, if you need to give it to someone, tell them where it came from..DFB..

Notes on "Global Effects" Music values

The Area Trigger may not be used to trigger an event, only the music, If you require an event, use a second AT over the one you have set for Music.

Known Values for the "Music" in the general information using an "Unlocked Med". These values are taken from the SP games in both BHD and BHDTS

Thanks for the tip. I haven't been able to try it because I downloaded a mission and then the sound would come late 2 seconds after everything from gunfire to footsteps, i took Out the mission and ran the game again and same problem. So I uninstalled the game and ive tried to reinstall but the setup install screen won't show up. Please help I really want to finish my Yurek map.

Thanks..the delay you have is usually caused by incorrect video drivers, if you have DirectX 9b installed, then get the latest video driver, if you have an old one, you get a lag effect, I have an nVidia card, and the older drivers sometimes do this...make sure you completely remove the old drivers..before installing the new ones..use the unistall in the "add Remove" on your "Control Panel" to do this..

im having the same problem with my map i want to play global music 14 with song war 83 but it does not work but var 80 does, i have set my AT like EE said and only useing that AT for the music not any events, do we need to get the AT to a Z value? or start with var 80 then something else??

have you tried setting one of the at's z value to around 30 that way then it will form a box.

ok ive been testing no you dont need to set a Z value you have to make them go in order like var 80 first then 82 then 83 and so on untill you get the last bit of music for the last part of the mission so u cant start with the end peace of music if you get what i mean you cant play 85 first it has to be 80 then on wards

TS Music??

Hey I got this music thing down pretty good, I'm just wondering how I can get TS music in my map. All I seem to come across is BHD music. Anybody know how I can specify that I want TS music to be played?

well. the funny thing is..the codes are the same..ie..var 80 etc..wether you use BHD or TS..there doesn't seem to be a way to make a difference..well not that I can see..

Hello,

Is it possible to play MP3's converted to wav files in MP games? I'm Playing BHD, BHDTS and BHDTS Final Conflit. I created the blank wac file per EE instructions but, what is needed to go in here and from where? I used PFF extractor to pack wav file into PFF but, Med doesn't see it, Why? Do I need unlocked med or which one should i use? I have been looking on forums but, no luck. Just need some info.

The med won't see it..you call it up with a wac file..or, you create a lwf (I think..lol, been a while).. file to call it up via an event...(play Dialog)

All the players must have the new wave to be able to hear it..

Thanks to those who went through the trouble to figure this stuff out, but is it possible to determine the exact numbering and sequence that the triggers and variables have to go in to make all the music work right? I've been messing with this, using the numbers posted by Eagle Eye and joselz, and it's hit and miss with getting the music to work. It also seems that mixing different bits of music isn't possible since the values are pre determined for each set of tracks, which is too bad because I wanted a map to start with the beginning music from Bandit's Crossing, and then go to the tunnel escape music from Russian Underground. Oh well, but it's nice to get some music in. Thanks

The V(3) 8 and V(3) 28 with V(4) 1 seems to act as a trigger to play 81 and 82 no matter how many times you visit each area trigger.
I tried them with other musics and got nothing. So I assume that if they will play other musics, then there would have to be other numbers involved.

V(4) 80 is used to turn the music off. It will "NOT" turn off all the musics at anytime or place you would like it turned off.

AREA TRIGGERS: It appears that they have to be numbered 1 thru 6 and some must overlap anywhere from a little bit to fully enclosing one another.And i might also add, they are some what sensitive about how they are placed.

OK! SO NOW YOU WANT TO PLAY TEAM SABRE MUSIC IN YOUR MAPS...


First thing you do is pick the name of a Team Sabre map that you would like to use for your map.
Pick a STOCK map name, NOT the MENU name.

When you make the BIN file,you put the name that you would really like to have in there so it will showup in the MENU with that name. if not it will show in the MENU as tsbhd_what ever number you picked.

use that name for your MIS file and all other files,WAC,BIN,til,pcx and so on.

The STOCK maps are: tsbhd_01
tsbhd_02
tsbhd_03
tsbhd_04
tsbhd_05
TSBHD_06
TSBHD_07
tsbhd_08
TSBHD_09
TSBHD_10
tsbhd_11
Notice please that some are lower case and UPPER CASE.

Some of you are getting excited now and think that my stock map is going to be gone if I do this.
Not to worry! your stock map AIN'T gone, it's just more or less covered up. As long as it stays in the EXP1 file it will not get deleted.

When you finish makeing and playing the map, move it and all the related files to another folder or delete it and the stock map will show in the MENU again.

This is the same as makeing a BHD or BHD_TS map, the only difference is that you have to use a TEAM SABRE STOCK MAP NAME in order for the music to work.

Last thing! It should be the map makers RESPONSIBILITY to inform the people in the map DESCRIPTION that his or her map was made with that particular stock map name. Because someone out there is without a doubt in my mind, going to unzip a map into there DFBHD folder and wipeout all kinds of hours spent on something they were working on that had the same name.
