Well, about 6 weeks ago, i went to my doctor about a lump i had under my arm...he looked at it, said it wasn't anything too bad, said we would keep an
eye on it, and sent me home...
Now, 6 weeks later, i find this lump under my arm has become a bit bigger, and when they did a scan on it...it turned up as a lump of cancer...i can't
pronounce the dang name, but i'm only 16 and haven't had enough of these DF games yet...ahh!!! well, i'll keep making the maps to keep myself
entertained...oh well, it may go away...i'm not too worried right now...
peebs - 1-29-2004 at 09:08 AM

Keep on mapping...keep on living...keep up good spirits...you wanna talk...let off steam here if you want..

Very sorry to hear about the cancer man, I hope everything works out for you and you are doing fine. I am glad you shared this with us, I would like
to think that most of us here at DFB are a big family, and never like to hear bad news about a fellow soldier. Keep the spirits high my friend. Take
Care!

perigrine falcon - 2-3-2004 at 04:48 PM
right now denile is your worst enemy. you you have something that needs taken care of ASAP dont think because you are 16 youll be alright. i dont
intend to scare you but ive lost to many family members to this and i have a few that had it and are still living the family that i lost to it where
all in denile(not the river). so take care of it, also get another opinion and ask about everything.
what are all the options.
what can go wrong.
how many patients the doctor treated with cancer that survive?
this is a serious illness and shouldnt be taken lightly. but like EAGLE said theres alot that can be done for you but it wont help if you wait to long
or dont do it.
also after you take care of it get a thorough checkup every 1-2 years
good luck and keep up the high spirits
I'm trying to keep to the doc
Messenjah - 2-6-2004 at 03:37 AM
I've been visiting the doc every 2 days of a new week...monday and wednsday most of the time, but it has gotten a lil bit bigger...i'll try and keep
everyone updated...
Whisper, your right, we here at the barracks are one BIG family...a large band of brothers and sisters who are all linked by a site that was to host
and hold maps. But it became more then just a site for that...it has pulled many AI soldiers together to share just anything they want about anything
they want. Thank you all...and keep maken 'em maps!

Rovalo - 2-7-2004 at 04:25 AM
Its a scary word. I know have been fighting it for the past 3 years. Started in colon then just had four tumors removed from liver. Going through
chemo again. I will sugest to go to a good cancer hospital. MD Anderson in Houston for one, but there are many great ones. If you need to talk about
it let me know, will be glad to call you. Take care and my prayers are with you.
Sorry guys..
Messenjah - 2-7-2004 at 03:16 PM
Sorry for the others out there with the cancer probs too...it hurts more to find out you have it then you can feel it i guess...i had an aunt die of
spinal cancer about 3 years ago...that really impacted my mom, and now she's even more freaked now that i have been diagnosed...but it is good to know
that i have others out there like me who can post here and express what they need, want, or to offer some help and info...thanks guys.

This reminded me of something
"If your going through hell....keep walking....just keep walking" Winston Churchill WWII
Well...its final
Messenjah - 3-4-2004 at 03:29 AM
The doctor has given me the final report, and it IS cancer. They could either try to remove it, or I can just live out the rest of this life of
mine...well, the next 7-8 months of it. I don't like lasers all that much, but maybe i could try the surgery...
Delta_Seeker - 3-4-2004 at 04:09 AM
fight it mann your in my prayers
Cancer
Sgt. Hawkins - 3-4-2004 at 09:49 AM
Dont give in @ dont give up ever. you have a young mind and body. I have seen and done alot of things. If you are 16 like you say you are then you
better fight it. dont say you only have 7 or 8 months. a doctor is human and can be wrong. so prove him wrong. at your age there is so much for yuo to
do and see. Im sorry that you have been diagnosed with it. But it is up to you to fight it. And i will tell any one the same thing. You can beat it
brother. dont give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SilenT-SnipeR - 3-4-2004 at 09:34 PM
fight it man my mum has it to it is sad i know but you can fight it make sure no 1 puts you down just get throught it with the support of your fammily
and friends
Cancer
Rovalo - 3-6-2004 at 09:51 AM
y visits to MDAnderson In Housto,Tx Dont give up. Like I said earlier I've been fighting this [Censored] for 3 yrs. In mx. I have
met several with the same same outcome as yours . One lady had 2months to live. That was 11 years ago so dont give up. Give me a call anytime you
want to talk about it 24/7. 850-547-3604
well
Messenjah - 3-6-2004 at 04:53 PM
Thanks yall, for the encouraging words, each one pushes me to fight it as best as i can.
The doc said not to get excided or anything or try to be stressed...but how could i not? The other day, i got in a fight, bloodied up one kid, and got
sent home. had to go to the doc's right after that. he got mad at me for gettin into that rumble. Oh well, gotta have some fun right? i mean, i didn't
start it, but i did finish it.
It is true that docs are only human, and he could be wrong. my mom keeps tellin him to go over and over the scans and blood, etc. that they used to
determin whats up with me. Lol. poor her, i keep tryin to calm her, but she's actin as if i've already died or something. ahh well, thanx again for
all the help and encouragment guys, thanx a bunch.
and thanks for the offer Rov, i might take ya up on it sometime.
