Jonny Rubber - 12-31-2003 at 10:27 AM

Depends on your budget and current system:D

MATRIX-MIH- - 12-31-2003 at 10:45 AM

lol ok i am thinking about getting it

Jonny Rubber - 12-31-2003 at 10:48 AM

Generaly I try and get the best I can affoard but I stay away from the top end cards coz in six months or so these will be down to mid range prices.

MATRIX-MIH- - 12-31-2003 at 10:53 AM

yeah I know what you mean.

HumanTarget - 12-31-2003 at 10:57 AM

9800 Pro is a good card. beats the 4200Ti in in's graphics.

I'm running a 4200Ti. a good friend has the 9800 and the 9800 wins. but the 4200ti if u can find it is still a good card, and will run pretty much all games at max graphics.

another good card if ur budget is small is the FX5200 which is a bit lower than the 4200, or a FX5600 which is about the same as the 4200.

hope that helps a bit and isn't too confusing.

MATRIX-MIH- - 12-31-2003 at 10:59 AM

It helps thanks man

<-Tank-> - 12-31-2003 at 11:16 AM

I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro, runs BHD great! :)

MATRIX-MIH- - 12-31-2003 at 11:19 AM

now I need to find out how to make the game load on faster on a server.

<-Tank-> - 12-31-2003 at 11:26 AM

btw, don't listen to anyone who tries to suggest an nVidia card.. they don't cut it. ;)

(I'm talking FX5900 etc..)

Steptoe - 12-31-2003 at 03:53 PM

Go GF I have used them since riva/tnt days good reliable, just choose your brands and make sure they have good heat sinks and fans....
Also so a forum search some good recent info....
And Dont take any notice of Aussies

Eagle_Eye - 12-31-2003 at 07:33 PM

You can take note of this one, lol, Steptoes just a bit senile!!

Cards a preference thing, I have a Gforce 4 in 1 PC and a Radeon in the other, both are mid range cards, and both perform well. Do a google search, you'll find a lot of info, reviews etc.

payper_boy - 1-4-2004 at 05:40 AM

Would a GE FORCE 3 work good for BHD on a windows xp? Because Im building a computer with xp on it and my budget is tight...

Jonny Rubber - 1-4-2004 at 06:47 AM

is a Intel82810 Graphic card is good or not ? its my default Video card of my cpu

Eagle_Eye - 1-4-2004 at 05:22 PM

The Intel 810 is an onboard chipset no longer supported by most games, in fact Nova had to bring out a special patch for DFLW, cos the terrain showed up grey. Even with the latest dirextx and video drivers, games like DFBHD are just not going to load, It wouldn't even install on my old P#733 with the same graphics card. The unfornunate thing is, most boards with this chipset didn't have an AGP slot, so the only way to get better graphics is to upgrade the motherboard. The 810 used Ram from the system, it was on demand type setup, the more ram the card wans, it takes from the system, up to 32megs, so if you only hsve 64 megs of ram, running a graphic intese game, your in effect only going to have 32meg left for the system to run. I upgraded my system. it was a better choice.

I don't profess to know a vast amount about this subject, however, the way I feel is, that most people surely know of the 'branded' names on the market, the nvidia's the radeon etc...so if people checking them out, just review the specs of the cards, then review the specs of card required of the game(s) they want to play, I think for those of us who consider on-line gaming 'just a laugh' and do not take themselves too seriously anything will do as long as it works !!!....thats my tuppence anyhow.
