simply make sure under general info
make sure no game types are checked like TDM or Deathmatch, or Flagball. etc.
This applies to seeing the map in single player missions part of the your df game
You can also host a multiplayer game to see the map... Here is how...
If you "export mission file" you can be "in the Map" but you must
1. checkmark the game type you want to play in (like Deathmatch)
2.export the the mission" to the game directory.
3. STart your game for multiplayer game and select that game type to play
4. Start hosting and you are in the map.
When you make changes to the map you must use the ~quit command to leave the game
then restart the game after you have exported the new changed map. New maps that
are exported are not dynamically brought into play for you to see. You must start
and stop the game to see the changes.

if you play the map like it's a single player mission, simply write 'restart' in the comand box. (most ppl press the ~ to open the comand box.) All
changes you've done to the map and saved as 'yourmapname'.bmp will be loaded.

If you don't select a Game type as Slyfox first mentioned insert start player near your work area then start game through quick missions. Then all you
need to do to see changes is to blow yourself up with a granade and mission will restart with the changes with the exceptions of changes done at
General Info level. This method has saved me so much time. Now I don't have to wait for mission perameters to load every time I want to see a simple
change. As quick as a respawn!

yeah, just die or write 'restart', to reload the map with all the changes. Except if you change weather conditions, fog, waterlevel, or terrain.

i always set my games to death mach and only enterd 1 start marker,
You dont even haft to be online to host a df2 map unlike land warrior so people dont just arive,
And its a good idea to have 2 miss files saved,
alter 1 save it If it works ok
reopen it when u want to edit it then save it as a nother name.
this way you always have a working back up.
oh And dont use more than 11 letters to save your files,
I know this post is ancient But may aswell make shure it has all the data people may want

hey knucles991
if you have the map ready then it should be ready to play so long as the the gametype is either unchecked or coop is selected .
example: if only deathmatch is chosen and not coop then you cant play it in single player , if all gametypes are unchecked then you can play it single
player in quick missions if the coop mission type is selected then you can host it as well

wrong but i cant figure it out. i can play but no one signs on. is it possible that it works but no one wants tu play on it??? thanx once again.
