u can download the 1.2 update fromthis link and it does solve the 5 sec punt prob. so no need for the 3d analyse prog any more

I have updated my DFBHD to the new version 1.2.0......., and I need the NO-CD crack to start DFBHD. When I try to join a game it sais....your version is older than the server.....The question is that I have updated de game but I´m still using the NO_CD Patch 1.1 and It doesn´t work. Is there any new NO-CD PATCH for the release 1.2 ????? or does anyone know why it doesn´t work?

then update to 1.9 then install the newest patch which i tink is 1.2.010 or somin then read back in the forums viper gave a link to a prog called 3d analyze install that and u should be able to run i use it and evn tho it varies whether it works or not it still...works

Yes! there is a new no-cd patch for 1.2 its in the downloads section for bhd. for each update there has to be a new no-cd patch version.

first off I see lots of posts with issues running BHD for various reasons. Some are understandable and some are not, based on what I am reading.

My suggestion to all is when you are having issues getting into MP or getting punted or some other graphics issue and you have to uninstall BHD then once you uninstall, DELTETE THE ENTIRE FOLDER ( never see anyone indicate they do this ) and all its content. DEFRAG your system and reboot. Install BHD from your CD and do a test game in MP and SP. Once you have a good game then do a game update to what ever is the current version. Reboot your system.
I have never used the no cd patch and feel this is causing some issues based on my little knowledge of it, cause each time Nova does a game update they are tightening up all cheats out there and the no cd is considered an illegal option not for the people who use it so they can play music but for others who share their game. My thoughts if you want music turn on your expensive stereo system and leace the BHD CD in the drive. Remember with everyone complaining about cheats, trainers etc Nova is doing what they said they would --go after cheats and that is why you will see more and more updates of BHD and possibly other DF series which are still being hosted by Nova. So it's your option but my opinion don;t use the no cd patch it;s not worth it. Yes everyone who runs a server and plays on another system this is illegal and is called software piracy if you use the no cd for this function.

On 31-03-03 I emailed novalogic about 2 problems i had.

1. When I tryed to conect to a games server my machine would just freeze up .

2. After pressing the update button in Black Hawk Down and down loading the latest update program on 31-03-03.
When i tryed to connect to novaworld my firewall gave me a message.

DETAILS: trojan attempt detected from address ftp.novaworld.com(65.211.238.27) by rule "Default Block WinCrash Trojan horse".


I found the cause of my first problem (firewall not set up correctly :( ) but was fairly woried about the second one.

The next day i received a reply from Novalogic Technical Support :) with some helpfull suggestions.

1. Close all background programs such as virus checkers or system tools
2. Make sure you are not using any Firewall software or proxy servers
3. You have the most recent version of the game installed
4. Make sure you have the most updated drivers installed for your modem.

Good advise for lockups but not for trojans. :o

They definately know how to inspire confidence about there technical abilities. :P

Reading though the post's the main culprit for the 5 sec punt seams to be the update.
Just thought i would say what hapened when i tryed to update my game.
I have manualy downloaded the update from novalogic and every thing is working ok.
I have a p3 500, a 56k modem and only get disconected when my ping gets too high. :D

I have 5 machnes here, 1 a dedicated server, full retail copies , run nocd patchs since earlt lw days and on other games to preserve the orginal disks, and never had the punt prob, sys dumps etc etc. ecept when run warez versions!!! so I buy
Over the yrs of sorting other machines out the probs have NEVER been the game or nocd patch
They have been
1/Warez
2/ crap loaded on the machines
3/user not following instruction EXCACTLY
4/ machine/compents is to old
5/badly installed drivers
6/crapy phone/network/firewalls

So stop blaming everyone/thing else ,its easy way out.

I have read all the things in this thread and I am still have the punt problem. I have uninstalled reinstalled like 15 time I also formatted the HD and started over. I didnt have this problem with just the cd installed but when i get the update 1.2.1 it starts.Single player works fine. I called tech support they said to clear the cache folder out in the bhd folder so I did that they also said that the new update 1.2.1 fixed that problem for 99% of the people but i know I cant be the only one that is still getting the ount sometimes it will last 20 to 30 sec before it happens very strange any ideas TIA.

BUt my older 800 with a gefore2 can play with no punt no problems behind the router but it is very slow and jerky.

I had a older graphics card that ran the game, but looked like i was acid when i played, I updated to a Geforce 4 and it stopped working and i got this 5 second punt problem... There is a program you can download called 3danalyze....Your graphix card has to have TnL activated, this program will do that for u... Then i got the new updated (from Nova website) and it stopped working!!!!! I have uninstalled and reinstalled, tried the 3danalzye prog again and it still wont work... i am running windows ME with a Geforce 4 64MB graphix card....hope this post helps a bit :(

The main problem is that everyones machine is set up differently. Drivers, video card, application version on local machine vs. application version on server.

A good bet is for some of us is to report there current settings for games that work and compare them with some settings from users who are having trouble.

I am running
XP Pro
2.0 ghz AMD
512 mb
Creative Annihilator Pro (GeoForce 256 - 64mb)
Directx 9.1 (I think)

I've had BHD shut down bringing up the server list, I've been punted after 5 secs and I've been punted for Max Ping after a long ci.

The latest update seems to have corrected the problems. I would highly recommend downloaded it from a third party site rather than NW and never directly open it from NW. Save it to your machine first, then execute it.

Guys like Frty should un-install BHD to clean up any residual problems from the shareware fix. As mentioned earlier, make sure you wipe all of the files and start fresh.

all you need is probably an up to date game (version 1.2.1.1, download here) um... a 1.4 ghz, i'd say 1.7ghz or higher beta and 256 mb ram for it to work i guess at least i think but make sure u have direct x 8.1 or later installed and welll, yeh just hope for the best, if it still doesn't work, well i don't know but its a stupid question but is your cd rom drive working perfectly? as in not just install but play as well, try a different game and some audio cds and stuff just to check :)

hi all i have XP full my system has AMD XP2000 -Gforce 4 ti4200 8xagp 128 mb 60 gig hd. I haven't experienced any punting from games but i have seen a lot of connection interruption on home servers.I get it the odd time when i host and players pings skyrocket and start to get punted i have not odea whats going on and i do have the updates aswell. I have emailed NL about this and yes no responce.PS have do i get my sig to work here ::D

look, u got a 64 mb ram 3d video card? if you do then its either your com just fuks up with this game or the game itself that you bought is fuked up, and the hosting problem i guess its just [Censored]ty net provider, i got alpha link, works fine but ping always 500ms coz alpha link is slow

on Monday, I played in the POW server and first map was fine, but second map all of a sudden many of us were punted continuously. then Tonight, "Thursday" Hoot was trying to get in and kept getting punted. They need to fix that in the game. (novalogic)

i serve most nights and seem to go for 1 or 2 hours then everyone is punted :mad:when they rejoin they get punted after 5 seconds.
so i find if i delete the cache and noax files and reboot my pc i last another 2 or 3 hours :o not a solution but may help

I have seen this problem alot with someof my new guys, All new people are required to get CB or df favs, Then they cant get in anymore. Some actually get mad cuase they think I banned them. I set a message and wait for em to pop back in. "TAKE OFF CB " A minutes later they get back in.

Sometimes the ACP patch will not allow you to play unless its a ACP server. Even after you remove ACP check , something seems to still be there. Have a look at that issue, maybe it will help.

It could be that somebody has just banned you and some how it just got to the other games when entering a game keep going in and out of the game. Do this about 5 or 6 times and the ban or punt they put on you will go away. The computer will find the problom itself and fix it!

I finally got over the punting problem. I still get punted, but can fix it immediately.
Here's what I do..
I clear the Cache in the BHD directory. I turn off my firewall. I then start the game and log onto Novaworld. Sometimes I get punted right off the bat, no biggie. I just restart and log back in..
So far no more problems. Yea it sucks to have to log in twice, but it works...

Im not totally sure if you guys fixed the problem yet there is just abit too much to read here lol, but anyways, I have the punting problem and I am getting really pissed lol

Windows XP Pro
AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (1.6ghz)

Latest drivers, and updated game version 1.2.1.1 (I think thats it)

The punting thing happens to me everyday...It will let me play the game for a few maps, and then I get punted. I try to join again and will still get punted. I will try and join a server thats not hosted by nova and still get punted. I try to log out, bypass the login and join but that doesnt help either.

I unistalled reinstalled, a [Censored] load of times, that does not help.

Any help, is greatly appriciated..Thank you

Im not sure if any of you tryed it, but I did a clean disk..got ride of all temp internet files, then did a disk defrag, then restarted and everything seemed to be fine, I was abe to play without being punted.

So if yo have that problem, give that a try..hope that helps

what are u running for a vid card?
#2 try updating to directx 9b. i had the same problem. also norton av is a know problem disable it. it is garbage. down load avg antivirus. It works great. then uninstall nortons if you have it. avg is free and the address is www.grisoft.com

I have it running on XP, 2K Pro and 98SE. I get punts from games no matter whether it is updated or not. I am running 1.7m Cable Internet. Running on new machines with no less than 256mb memory and no CPU under 1.5ghz. I can host (Server only or Play and Host) and see others having the same problem.
The problem is random on the XP machine and not so random on the 2k Pro and all the time on 98SE. Video cards range from Nvidia to ATI Radeon and no two machines are the same and the problem persists

I have a friend who can not get on any game level for more than 15 seconds or less without being punted. He is running 2k Pro as well and is ready to scream. I can tell you that it is machine independant and OS independant. Would seem to be a bug in the Game.:mad:

yeah this happened to me the first time i tried to play single AND multiplayer games. To fix it, you must completely delete every BHD file and un-install the game. Then re-install the game and see if it works. If it does not work, then you didnt delete all the BHD files.

seam nova tried to fix the problem - but just got bigger

the last update was supposed to fix the problem.... used to happen to me now it doesnt, just assume the update actually worked on this issue. i used to get it when i loaded servers...it would load then after a few back out of the game....try clearing your cache file in your bhd folder.

Some nights get punted, some not. Some nights get punted a lot, some a few. I try to keep temp files cleaned. After I defrag seems to not get punted at all, but don't want to defrag every day. Hope this helps someone.

I was going to play BHD today (haven't played in about 2 months). I update the game, enter the game, get on a Nova server and get punted after about 30 secs. Every server I tried does it. This is f'ing ridiculous.

I haven't played in 2 months either and I am having the same problem. Funny thing is nothing I have seems to be showing the problem. I have tried differnt drivers and lowered my ping times and I still get kicked after 30 sec. THIS SUCKS!

My video card now is the GeForceFX 5900 Ultra with the 53.03 Driver. I have also tried the 2 previos drivers and they still don't work.

Just to let you know the issue with being punted with the new update is an issue with the new drivers from NVIDIA.

The way I figured this was by uninstalling,re-installing,changing the directory when re-installing, not updating the game. Re-installing DX9 and finally rolling back driver to the NVIDIA Driver v45.23. Once I did that I was able to play them game "the way it was meant to be played."

So if you have an NVIDIA video card and have this driver revert back if you want to play DFBHD. Also, this driver also affects the game BF1942 Desert Combat, in case someone plays that game too.

I may be totally off your topic, since I havent read the entire post properly. But I do know that if you have modified skin files in your BHD folder, you will get punted after 5 sec, if you try to join a server who dont allow skins.

I notice- when I started messing with skins and when I tryed to go into servers even if they allow the skins it still seems to mess up. you be playing for one map then the next you get cut off or the 5 second cut off too. skins are cool but I think theres alot of bugs in them- so I when I got rid of all my skins in my folder I never had a problem again. so it might just be a simple thing as a skin that kicks ya..

i think i sorted out my punt problem the same time the update came out i upgraded to a 1 meg connection and i thought it was get the fault of the bhd update but i have two comps networked with just cards and on the other one which is not connected direct to the modem bhd works cause the connection is slower but when i connect it staight to the modem it punts me on that one as well so i think im nearly there ........oh and its at the graphics card i changed mine from a radion 7000 64mb to a gforce 4 256mb and it still didnt work!!!

I too get punted out of all servers including my own clan, but I last for 40 seconds. All was great until this update (v1.5.0.5) I've un-installed, deleted all traces of it, on my hard drive, re-installed and reupdated, same problem still.
I run WinXP on a Pentium 4, 2.4ghz, 768 DDR ram, 64mb agp G Force, 40gig Hdd, I'm also on cable running at 600k, surely this enough to run a game? Anyone know a fix? missing all the action!!

I got this punting problem too on my LAN. My second pc, a Thunderbird 1000 with G4 MX440 64 MB gets punted tto (seen on pc #1) I made a screenshot. I hope they will release a fix for this soon.

This happened to me with Battlefield 1942 and after much research I found some patch out there it was on one of their forums. Never played BF 1942 after that because I found it fixed my BHD that had been sitting in a box. I have Nvidia and a VIA chipset which it not a good combo I hear.

With regards to Arden1's problem, It sounds like the hell I've just been through. I installed windows XP with SP1 integrated and no matter what I tried, every single game crashed within seconds of the map/level loading. I spent four days of formats,un-installs, re-installs and every imaginable driver,hardware and bios setting combination you can think of and no matter what I kept on getting the same problem.

I won't bore you with all the details of my troubles I'll just tell you that I eventually came across an old beta driver for via chipset based motherboards which solved the problem. This is a snippet from the readme explaining what it does:

"It closes the RX55 memory register in BIOS. The RX55 register's official name and function is Memory Write Queue (MWQ) timer. The MWQ timer is actually a timing device included in the memory host controller to prevent write data being held in the memory queue too long. After the data has been in the queue too long it times out. This timed out data is then given a higher write request priority. Now that might sound nice ? a bit of extra performance BUT the procedure fails when overloaded. 3D games and Win XP put too much load on the memory queuing timer procedure. The nVidia new driver exaggerates the problem even more as the driver enables nVidia cards to use even more memory than previous driver versions.

They also say in it that this driver will "probably end up being a silent install patch in the next version of the 4in1 drivers" I don't know why but this obviously never happened as the date of the zip containg the drive is "03 December 2001" !!!! and there's been a hell of a lot of 4in1 drivers since then.

So like I said this worked for me and if you're absolutely at the edge of your sanity looking for a solution (and you've got a via chipset motherboard of course) you may as well give it a try also.

I should also point out to anyone else thinking about trying it that they should bear in mind that is specific to a problem of games crashing within seconds of the map/level loading. The more common instabilities of random re-boots or lock ups after a fair amount of time are more likely to do with the usual reasons and this driver isn't likely to do much for you.

people i think i have kind of the same problem BUT WORSE when i try to join a multiplayer game it loads then just closed the window completely

i used to hav that problem to when i had 128mb RAM. after i got 512mb it work ok. so i think that u should upgrade ur RAM to 512 or more.

Also it will punt you out of servers if you have a Skin(s) in your bhd directory at all and the server doesent allow custom skins..

If also have this punting problem,i tried all things that was said too try,but still no luck.
I also formatted my harddrive(just incase)
But after re-installing the game,the punting was still there.
So it is unlikely that it is a virus or spyware that is causing this.
If it was spy/virus then it can come only from the update.
Bhd was the first thing i installed.
I updated it(that was the only thing downloaded that day).
And when i joint a MP game i still got punted.
So that would mean if you updated your game you are letting in the spy/virus??
I am not saying impossible...but very unlikely.
My guess is that either the update(proberly)or the game has certain 3D Cards Support witch cause it to work only with a specifeid amount of video carts.

When i installed the game(like for the 5 time) before formating i noticed that the the file blinkw32.dll was missing in 3 instalation accasions.

I too get the 5 second punt problem and I've racked my brains trying to figure it, but still have the problem.
I've updated everything on my PC after a fresh installation of XP. Direct X, mainboard, all drivers blah blah are completely updated. I have a Ge-Force F5200, 256mb in my machine (yes updated!) but still have this lowsy problem, annoying as I seem to be the only one in the squad with this problem, and have probably got the best PC!! Can't enter no matches :-(

This is getting beyond a joke, have had BHD installed and working fine for 6 months without any 5 sec punt problem.
Installed BHD Team Sabre and now have the dreaded 5 sec punt problem.
Does anyone have a solution yet?:(

You can check your pings if you are running a cable modem directly without going on BHD. Try the following

- click START
-click RUN
-type CMD click OK
-type ping www.yahoo.com
-(make sure u put a space after the word ping)
-hit ENTER
-what happens yahoo checks to see how long it takes for your modem to talk send and recieve back
-at the bottom look for where it says AVERAGE=
-should be somewhere around 25
-If it says anything over 120 and u r on cable, then your connection is junk
-do this a few different times within 5 min and see if it comes back with a high ping.

Well I didn't have this problem before :), then I reinstalled XP just to clear all the old files/demos/games from the machine machine and now I do. Its not so much of being booted after 5 sec more like if I shoot I get booted to the login screen, but this only happens at peak gaming times, other time I can play no problems.

I have cable 1.5 meg, but my ping times normally vary from 65ms to 300ms, but can peak higher than that :(. One thing I have noticed that ping time have gone up since JO servers have come online.

I don't see this problem in JO but do have trouble connecting to Nova to login, but once in everything is fine, ie no booting..

hey guys,,ive gone through the whole 8 pages hoping to find a solution,, mith no luck. what i did notice is most problems where with the nvida cards. i used to play with no problems befor then i wanted to upgrade my card and got the g-force fx5200 and yes now i have the same problems as everyone. anyone know if we are any closer to finding a solution.

Oki when this first started happening to my friend e though this too.. but when u get punted from a games doesnt it tell you.. (i could be wrong but when im punted coz of high ping it told me). He is on a 56k and this could of been the problem.. But when he reinstalled and didnt update he could join games fine even tho he is on a 56k... personally i think this is something in the patch.. my advice to any thats havin probs like this dont update untill nova release a newer patch, which will hopefully solve this problem.

yes it does.. he tried nova servers, public servers and i even hosted for him.. each time 5 secs after joining he wud get punted

No, there is no error after being punted it just puts him straight back to the main page.

Thats all i can help you with.. this aint a problem i have suffered from myself but did spend sumtime trying to help my friend with the problem.. and did sort it out by not updating, however not sure if he can join servers that use the update..
Man just reinstall the game, don't update and it should be fine! Worked for me;)

I can play delta force black hawk down no problem but when i install the expansion pack team sabre, i have the same problem everyone else is having, getting the servers and then punted out after 5 second to the main page again. i can uninstall team sabre and play no problem. it is agrivating that i didnt have this problem before the updated the dang servers on novaworld. please help!!

I recently had this problem.

After uninstalling, DELETE the Novalogic Folder. You have to do this.

Also as stupid as this sounds, take the Team Sabre disc out of the computer. I failed to do that and I got punted every 5 seconds.

Reinstalled, updated (not in game) and put BHD disc in and no more issues.

By the way this is just after a fresh reformat.

I was getting the 5 second autopunt on the LAN- The thing that finally fixed it was opening the DFV.cfg file in notepad and applying the following settings:

allowcustomskins = 1
servermsg = "Enter host message here"
minping = 0
dominpingcheck = 0
maxping = 100000
domaxpingcheck = 0
dirtyupstream = 0
dirtyupstreampost = 0

I don't think the maxping setting did anything but the punt problem may have been due to the custom skins setting or drityupstream.
