Well then cant more recoil be added to the guns so that your going to have to kneel and aim before shooting otherwise yor bullets fly everywere.

Well.. sorry.. but we wont be monkeying with weapons.. as it causes way to much controversy..

On the TerraNova mod.. the main complaints we got were due to the changes to the weapons. . and its sbout impossible to please everyone..

Will they be able to be submerged underground like the tunnels? If so, that would be way cool. I'd like to see a lot of rooms and passageways associated with the sewers, too. Looking forward to your reply.

...davesnow mentioned 'The Boss's' sewers, which are real cool especially the green 'yucky' stuff!! I thought it would be fun to have a network of tunnels/sewers that could be assembled by the mapper (just like the BHD tunnels) where you'd have a choice of items to build from. All peices would have to be above ground, proper tunnels look tricky! ...Anyway, here's a few screens of a ladder section and a straight 10M section (wip).




3 levels to each section. Shows ladder access from ground to second floor and hidden room on first floor.

The key is variety of items... straight sections, corners and large/small rooms - maybe a walled, open ground area?

Well I suppose it 'is' possible... but I can't see anything in the mod overviews on the creation of tunnels... the correct code etc.

The only other option as I see it would be to create 'land areas' as objects. A pre-made section of flat (or bumpy?) land enclosed by a wall with 'manhole' access to the tunnels.
You can view a superb 'custom' example of this here by =CSi=Cuda.

You could have 3 or 4 types of 'land area' ... large for many buildings... small for just an armoury with both deep and shallow access to the tunnels. Just empty sections of walled land on which you could place anything... buildings, decorations, all the usual MED bits 'n' bobs! You could even have above ground combat so you'd still see daylight!!! I gotta say this has a lot of potential!

Tunnels aren't that tricky. There are some rules that must be followed however. All below ground areas need to be surrounded by a single box named BBLSV01 as well as a single box named BB01. This combination makes it seperate from the terrain & therefore not filled with dirt. The area where you go below ground from above ground must have a single box around it named BBV01. That box must sit perfectly on top of the BBLSV01 & BB01 boxes if I remember correctly. When the player is in the BBV01, BBLSV01 and or BB01 boxes he must not be able to see outside of the building. When in those boxes the terrain no longer exists and it would just be weird for the world to dissapear like that.:P I have some tunnel pieces including an entrance that work that I made in Milkshape some time ago. I can post those for examples if y'all want.

We both took a bit of time off doing the mod..I spoke to AB 2 nights ago, we're gonna get back into it This week..

So, no new ss yet..

Falcon, you can't do that..the med isn't set up that way..

i know just thought maybe it might be possible to put in doubles of some objects that mappers may want to either pitch or roll on could be pitched the other rolled.

can you change the orientation of the object while modding to do this??

Yeah, I suppose you could..never tried..you could have 2 objects, as you say, each pitching different ways..

I suppose it's just a matter of rotating it 90 Degrees in Max..I'll have to try it..

CAN ANYONE MAKE SOME ANIMALS? Like a barking dog that might follow you around and bark at you? I think that might be possible. If the civilians can follow you around and throw rocks at you, could there not be a dog that would follow you around and bark?

And how about some animals like cows to set in a field?

We're not doing any Weapons for this mod, unless AB has changed his mind..

David, yes, it is possible, but, creating an animal is beyond my skills...it's like creating a new person, a lot of people have tried, some may have had success, I don't know anyone who has..

Maybe AB can comment on this, but, I'd rather just stay with what where doing, adding buildings and decorations..as AB and Ii originally agreed..

Well, things are slow at the moment..with AB having a bit of a break..

I would like to see objects that react with their enviroment better. Like when you dump inito it moves or when it's in water it floats..Will help with some area's of map making

smoke10 EE has all ready said that there will be no weapons in this mod. Weapons are one of the hardest things to mod bar characters and all the game realy needs is more items so that we can make more maps not just urban somalia.

Just to let you guys know what we have found or noticed....I'd say about 70% of the people that played our mods are only concerned with the weapons....most ...the majority don't care about a med or whats new in it....Me personally, I'm more worried about map making and this mod sounds great...but the harsh reality is with no weapons I don't think it will go anywhere....hopefully I'm wrong. I would very much like this mod to take off ...it looks great!

This is more of a Mappers Mod..if it doesn't take off..then so be it..

Putting weapons in the mod isn't too hard and would clinch a a winner in my opinion....Talk to someone like DeathWish99 ....he is pretty good at modelling weapons. But hey...its your mod and you should do what you feel is best .... but with all the other mods coming out ,the comp will be pretty intense. Good luck!

Yeah.. I keep seeing links to so many great mods on various sites.
Like Mædhros ~V~ said on his last post "You put in your time free of charge so we can get something for nothing."

I think the Black Ops mod is very cool... can't get enough of it and I'm looking forward to the update!

As you said yourself, you might have rushed it out a bit and some areas needed some attention but just to look at the logistics involved in getting from idea stage to finish has to be commended!

I can't speak for everyone involved in the DFBmod but adding weapons can cause a lot of controversy... as EE said it's mostly to offer new buildings and decorations for all the die-hard mappers out there but I'm sure like other mods, both old and new, it will get it's share of criticism.

For me, the stock weapons are fine and you know where you stand with them... I just want to see new buildings that offer a lot more scope for smaller teams and a change of style. We have some good ideas for the mod although it's on the back burner at the moment... I just hope the Boss is enjoying his vacation!!!

Looking forward to seeing those Pyramids!!!

That's true the comp will be intense.But a mod is a mod ya know.If your mod takes off that's great, and if it doesn't well then so be it, but the people feel good that they completed something worth while ya know?

lol long topic right im trying to make a driveable hover craft but im having truble i've all ready asked EE and he helped me thanks agian EE now i got another probelm but ill leave that out its is hard making objects for the first time and i think i no why they don't want wepons because people might say there cheating or somthing

and they might just change the wepon there self in the wepon.def and have it changed to one hit kills

o yea lol i think u can sort the probelm with the knife sometimes u swipe it you hit some one and it makes the sound but dones't kill them what if u put the kill points up to 1000 or somthing then it might work

and this will help the mapper but it most of the times don't work making terrains

i no none of that had to do with that but lol good luck any way EE and AB:)

It wouldn't be too hard... Make a copy and add some rooms but you'd only be able to use it in a mod.
